Best NBA Bets Today

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Detroit Pistons, 7:00PM ET

The Pistons are coming off of an ugly road performance against the Philadelphia 76ers, and they'll now need to travel back home for the second night of a back-to-back. It's never easy getting blown out and then having to get on a plane to play the next day, so we just can see Detroit coming out a little flat here. And this is already a team that is just 26th in the NBA in offensive rating.

Minnesota is a little better on the offensive end, with the team being up at 18th in the league in offensive rating. But the reality here is that this is just a meeting between two mediocre offensive teams — although that could change when Karl-Anthony Towns ultimately returns to the Timberwolves — and asking them to score 230 or more points seems unreasonable.

We understand the defense in this game could be rather lousy, but it's just hard to see there being enough made shots for this one to go Over. The Over has also hit in Detroit's last two games, and the Under is 20-9 when the Pistons are coming off back-to-back games that go Over. The average total points scored in those games was 216.8 points per game.

BET: Under 229.5 (-110) with DraftKings ➡️ here ⬅️.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks, 7:30PM ET

While the Hawks have had an up-and-down season thus far, they are 2-1 both straight-up and against the spread when facing the Bucks this season. And overall, we expect Atlanta to get up for a game that will be played on national television, in front of a packed house.

The Hawks have also been a bit better recently, as the team has won two of its last three games. Those wins came on the road against the Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers, who happen to be good teams. That has to be a confidence booster for Trae Young and Co.

Milwaukee also happens to be just 25-40 ATS when playing on the road against teams that shoot at least 46.0% from the field over the last three seasons. The Bucks have lost those games by an average of 2.9 points per game and we do see them losing a close one here — it's just a little safer to take the points on the off chance the game comes down to a final shot.

The Bucks being without Khris Middleton in a matchup with a team with multiple offensive weapons definitely hurts. There will be a bit more pressure on Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday to deliver here, and they can use a little help.

BET: Hawks +1.5 (-110) with DraftKings ➡️ here ⬅️.

Phoenix Suns vs. Denver Nuggets, 10:00PM ET

We're going to keep this one pretty simple because it's a matchup between two teams that couldn't be more different right now. The Suns, who miraculously pulled off an upset win over the Golden State Warriors last night, are missing multiple starters and key role players here — including superstar Devin Booker — while the Nuggets are finally nearing full strength. And while Phoenix has looked like one of the worst teams in the NBA lately, Denver has arguably been the best.

Everything needed to break right for the Suns to stay competitive against the Warriors last night, and somehow it all went in Phoenix's direction. But we expect the team to come crashing back down in this meeting with Denver, and this should be a game that gets pretty ugly. While the Suns had failed to crack 100 points in four straight games before scoring 125 against the Warriors, the Nuggets are tied for the best offensive rating in the entire NBA. They should pick apart their shorthanded opponents here.

Look for big games out of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic, as the Suns really won't have much of an answer for either of them. Bones Hyland could also cook off the bench for Denver, as Phoenix's second unit is full of G-League talent right now.

BET: Nuggets -12.5 (-110) with DraftKings ➡️ here ⬅️.
