Best NBA Betting Picks and Parlay Today - Tuesday, January 3, 2023

We had a big night with our NBA best bets on Monday as we suggested a three-unit play on the Minnesota Timberwolves, but we're hoping to keep it up with a three-game Tuesday slate on January 3. The evening of basketball begins with the Washington Wizards facing the Milwaukee Bucks and the Boston Celtics taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder. Then, the Utah Jazz host the Sacramento Kings in the latest game of the night. Also, make sure you check out our NBA player props parlay for the day. Best NBA Bets Today

Washington Wizards vs. Milwaukee Bucks, 8:00PM ET

The Wizards are 15-5 against the spread after back-to-back games of making 50.0% or more of their shots from the field over the last three seasons. So, this Washington team tends to play well in bunches, and we expect the Wizards to avoid getting blown out in this road game against the Bucks on Tuesday. Khris Middleton being out helps Washington here, as it's one less high-level scoring option for the team to worry about. 

The Wizards are also just scorching hot right now, as they have won and covered in each of their last five games. And they're also 7-1 ATS in their last eight games, so they haven't failed to show up very often. Keep an eye on Kyle Kuzma in this one, as he has been playing at an All-Star level over the last few weeks. The forward actually notched his second career triple-double in Sunday's win over this Milwaukee team. That was a game in which Giannis Antetokounmpo didn't play, so we're not expecting an outright Wizards win here. But we feel good about Washington not being embarrassed. 

Our model gives the Wizards a 53% chance of covering tonight, so this pick is also backed up by our predictive analytics.

Boston Celtics vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, 8:00PM ET

Boston is 41-26 ATS on the road over the last two seasons, and the team is also 10-2 ATS after having won four of its last five games this year. That latter one is an interesting trend when looking at this game, as the Celtics have won those games by an average of 11.6 points per game. Now, the Celtics will be taking on a Thunder team that only lost by four points when these two teams met in Boston on November 14. But that just makes it less likely that Boston will get caught sleepwalking here. 

The Celtics know that they can't afford to take this matchup lightly, so we're expecting some intensity from the jump. Boston is also coming off of a 12-point loss to the Denver Nuggets, so Oklahoma City isn't exactly catching the Celtics at the right time. They will not want to let two games in a row get away, and we expect them to impose their will on both ends of the floor here. 

Boston is first in the league in offensive rating, while Oklahoma City is down at 24th. The Celtics are also a bit better on the defensive end, as they are seventh in the league in defensive rating and the Thunder are just 11th.

Sacramento Kings vs. Utah Jazz, 9:00PM ET

The Jazz are stumbling coming into this game, as they have lost each of their last four games. Now, they are going to be trying to get revenge for a road loss to this very Kings team on December 30. And while home-court advantage is important in the NBA, we do see Sacramento prevailing here.

Utah just hasn't looked great in recent weeks, and it's hard to ignore that in a matchup like this. The Kings are better at almost every single position when compared to the Jazz, with the one exception being the power forward position. Lauri Markannen is easily the best player at that spot here, but it'll take an absurd effort from him in order for Utah to defeat Sacramento. 

Look for a big game out of De'Aaron Fox here. He hasn't been shooting the ball well, but he is due for a change there. And he had 24 points and 10 assists against Utah on December 30, so the team clearly had trouble handling him — even with Fox shooting just 41.7% from the floor and 20.0% from three in that game.
