Best NBA Bets Today
Dallas Mavericks vs. Washington Wizards, 7:00PM ET
The Mavericks aren't playing quite as well defensively as they did last season, but they're still in the Top 10 of the NBA when it comes to defensive rating. With that in mind, they'll like their chances of slowing down a Wizards team that is just 25th in the league in offensive rating this year. But the reason the Under in this game looks like such a good play is because of the way these teams play offensively.
As of this moment, both the Mavericks and the Wizards are playing some of the slowest basketball in the league. Dallas comes into this game at last in the league in pace of play, while Washington is just 27th in the NBA. That is just very tough to ignore, as we know both teams are going to want to slow things down and execute their offenses in half-court situations.
Don't be too scared off by the low total on this game. The oddsmakers likely want you to see how low it is as something of a trap.

📈 Betting preview: Mavericks vs. Wizards
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Atlanta Hawks, 7:30PM ET
Whereas the Hawks had to play against a very hot Jazz team last night, the Sixers come into this game as well rested as anybody. Since the start of November, Philadelphia has played only three games, and Doc Rivers' group also hasn't played since Monday. That's going to be a big advantage in this one, especially when you consider that the Sixers are 25-12 against the spread when playing four or fewer games in their previous 10 days since the start of the 2020-21 season. They have also won those games by an average of 11.6 points per game.
Of course, not having James Harden is a blow for Philadelphia in a meeting with an Atlanta team that has a very dynamic backcourt. But the Sixers can count on Tyrese Maxey to light it up whenever Harden is out, and Joel Embiid should be able to impose his will on this game by dominating the paint on both ends of the floor.
This Atlanta team is very talented and should do some good things this year, but timing is everything and the Hawks are getting the Sixers at the wrong time.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Miami Heat, 7:30PM ET
The Hornets are one of the coldest teams in the league right now, as they have lost six in a row and eight of their last 10. Charlotte has also failed to cover in seven of its last eight games, and it now faces a Miami team that will be seething after having lost at home to Portland the other night.
The last time these teams met in South Beach, the Heat won by 29 points in a game in which they were favored by 4.5 points. That was back in April but Miami was also 4-0 straight-up and 3-1 ATS in four meetings with Charlotte last year. And being that this year's Hornets team is a lot worse than last year's, this does seem like it has the potential to get really ugly.
Charlotte is just in a lot of trouble until LaMelo Ball and Gordon Hayward return, as those are the two best offensive players on the team. The absence of those two will sting even more against a tough Miami squad.
