Best NBA Betting Picks and Parlay Today - Sunday, January 22, 2023

We're hoping to pick out some winners with our Sunday, January 22 NBA best bets. There are seven games on the slate for bettors to choose from, with two of them starting in the afternoon. But we're looking specifically at the night games, and that includes a meeting between the Brooklyn Nets and Golden State Warriors on NBA TV at 8:30PM ET. That should be a very fun game to watch, so sit back and try to make sure you get these plays in. Our expert goes deep on matchup analysis, while also leaning on our predictive analytics and artificial intelligence. He'll do the same for our Sunday NBA player props parlay, which could end up earning us a big payday.

As always, we've simulated all of the night's NBA games 10,000 times each to determine where the value lies for sports bettors across the United States.

Best NBA Bets Today

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Phoenix Suns, 8:00PM ET

The Suns have been missing key players over the last couple of months, but they are starting to trickle back into the lineup slowly. Cam Johnson is listed as questionable to play in this one, but there's hope that he'll give it a go after having sat out the first game of the back-to-back on Saturday. If Johnson plays, there's no reason the Suns can't keep this one close. The same goes for Deandre Ayton, as either one of them — or both — would be joining a red-hot Mikal Bridges.

Bridges has scored at least 21 points in each of his last four games, and he is looking very comfortable as the team's go-to perimeter option lately. That won't be required when Devin Booker returns, but Phoenix has to be loving what it's seeing. His play is a big part of the reason the Suns have won their last two games.

Overall, the Grizzlies should find a way to win this game, but doing so by double digits on the road will be tough. Things aren't perfect for Phoenix just yet, but the team is starting to find some confidence.

DID YOU KNOW? Memphis' Dillon Brooks has had fewer than 2.5 assists in 12 of his last 16 appearances? That and more in our NBA Trends section.

BET: Suns +9.5 (-110) with DraftKings ➡️ here ⬅️.

Brooklyn Nets vs. Golden State Warriors, 8:30PM ET

The Nets are coming off an 11-point road win over the Utah Jazz, and they now get their crack at a Warriors team that simply isn't that good right now. Golden State is just 3-5 in its last eight games, and the team is flirting with the possibility of resting some of its stars in this one. That makes the Nets a very good value, as we like their chances even if both teams are mostly healthy.

It hurts that Brooklyn is without Kevin Durant right now, but Kyrie Irving is capable of getting hot. And the Nets still have a number of role players that are capable of rising to the occasion in a game like this. Perhaps Seth Curry gets hot in a meeting with his brother?

Our model also gives the Nets a 52% shot at covering and you can't ignore that.

SAY WHAT? Brooklyn's Kyrie Irving has recorded more than 5.5 assists in seven of his last 10 appearances. You can find more stats like this in our NBA Trends section.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Portland Trail Blazers, 9:00PM ET

The Blazers will be out for revenge when they host the Lakers on Sunday, as they lost by 19 when these teams met in Los Angeles on November 30. Portland is too good of a team to be losing to an Anthony Davis-less Los Angeles squad, and we like the Blazers to stomp the Lakers here.

LeBron James is also dealing with an injured ankle right now, so he'll be compromised if he does end up playing here. And without Lonnie Walker IV and Austin Reaves, it's just going to be hard for the Lakers to get the backcourt production they'd need to beat a team with Damian Lillard and Anfernee Simons.

This has the potential to get ugly, especially if Jerami Grant holds his own in a potential LeBron matchup.

TREND: We've also identified an NBA trend for Portland's Anfernee Simons that's worth consideration. Simons has scored more than 19.5 points in eight of his last 13 appearances.

BET: Blazers -6 (-110) with DraftKings ➡️ here ⬅️.
