2020/21 NBA MVP Preview and Predictions
⭐ Star Player: Zach Lavine
This one wasn't too hard to narrow down, but you could argue that says more about the Bulls than it does LaVine. The guy has all the tools, and he's on, he's ON! But, he just hasn't been able to find that consistency yet. He's also never had a coach as experienced or as capable as Billy Donovan, and if he can be unlocked this season, the offensive star could genuinely average 28+ points and push the Bulls into the playoffs.
🧨 X-Factor: Lauri Markkanen
The 7th overall pick in the 2017 draft, Lauri Markkanen has all the potential in the world. Build in the mould of Kristaps Porzingis, the 7-foot Fin is a scary proposition when he gets on a hot streak.
Another that Billy Donovan will be keen to get the best out of, Markkanen could prove the perfect offensive foil for the backcourt of LaVine and Coby White as the Bulls look to make the postseason for the first time since 2016/17.

🚀 Why they can make playoffs:
Talented young players with a better coach than before
As well as the two guys listed above, the Bulls are chock-full of young talent that when graded individually could be genuine stars of the competition. The above listed starting five, as well as guys like Patrick Williams and Daniel Gafford all have the potential to be starters on good playoff teams and with Billy Donovan at the helm, they're a better chance than recent at finding a way to put it all together.

🙅♂️ Why they can’t make playoffs:
An extremely crowded East
The Bulls are a genuine chance of scraping into the playoffs but realistically, there is a lot of teams around that mark that will make it difficult for them. Our predictive analytic model is projecting five teams in the East to fall between 27 and 34 wins, making it extremely tight for that 8th spot.
