Here are our best picks of the various player prop markets 👇
🏀 Scoring Leader
💰 Our pick: Stephen Curry +700
James Harden has had a monopoly on this award, leading the league in PPG for the past three seasons, but given the turmoil that is currently ongoing in Houston, this is the year to take him on.
Steph Curry was primed for a dominant year last season without Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson by his side, but injury struck early in the season to curtail any chance of that. This year, though, the broken hand is healed and we’re once again entering the season with the tantalizing prospect that we’ll see Steph completely tear opposition teams apart as the number 1 scorer on the Warriors. With a high likelihood that he will average around 20-23 shots per game, the value here is too good to refuse.
NBA Christmas Day - Who will score the most points?
🏀 Most Improved Player
💰 Our pick: Jamal Murray +1300
Going by recent recipients of the MIP, the winner of this is generally the player who catapults themselves into superstar status. Jamal Murray is ready to take that leap. After teasing us with what he can do in last season’s playoffs with averages of 26.6PPG and 6.6APG, the Denver guard will know that if he can keep up those numbers, not only will Denver have a legitimate stake at challenging the LA Lakers for the number 1 seed in the West, but Murray will become a bonafide star.
NBA Western Conference: Over/Under Total Wins Picks
🏀 Sixth Man of the Year
💰 Our pick: Bobby Portis +4000
We’ve gone for a proper long shot with the Sixth Man this year but there’s some logic behind it, so bare with us! Bobby Portis is one of many that has shown glimpses at the Bulls over the past few years and with a move to the title contending Bucks, he should be able to flourish in a superior system and with better players around him than he’s ever had before.
We know he isn’t going to start with the best PF in the world on his team, so he’s guaranteed to qualify for the award. With the system that has been built around Giannis and even Brook Lopez at the five, Bobby Portis should be able to go to another level when leading the second unit for a Bucks team that is known for sharing minutes between their starters and bench players.
Every teams's probability of winning the NBA Championship
🏀 Rookie of the Year:
💰 Our pick: Killian Hayes +900
The number 7 overall pick in the most draft, Killian Hayes has already been announced as the starting point guard for the Pistons and should be able to put up bulk numbers. As well as going straight into a starting role for his new team, he also has former MVP Derrick Rose as a mentor which would hold any young guard in good stead.
It’s set to be a pretty open ROTY race this season and with the benefit of going straight into a starting position, Hayes should be able to post good numbers in what is set to be a pretty grim season for Detroit when it comes to wins.
NBA Eastern Conference: Over/Under Total Wins Picks
🏀 Defensive Player of the Year:
💰 Our pick: Ben Simmons +1800
One of the hardest working defenders in the NBA, Simmons can guard all five positions and is an absolute menace to deal with for players of all offensive skill sets. Although his future is currently in limbo with constant rumors of his involvement in a potential James Harden trade, this shouldn’t impact his chances in this award, with his motivation levels set to be at an all-time high regardless of which team he suits up for.
