MLS Best Bets for Saturday, June 17

New England vs. Orlando

Good form is hard to ignore, and Orlando City come into New England with just exactly that as they look to extend their unbeaten run to seven games on Saturday night. For the Revolution, their home has been a fortress, yet to drop a game in their eight matches in front of their home fans, making them the deserved favorite in this one. Buuuut, it's just hard to look past Orlando to not at least salvage a point, coming off back-to-back clean sheets against the Rapids and NYRB on the road. With our MLS predictions model detecting a very slight 1.2% edge on City's odds to win outright, taking the double chance market is not such a bad decision here.

Nashville vs. St. Louis

Two of the best teams in the league come head-to-head when Nashville plays host to the new boys St. Louis in what promises to be the match of the weekend. A real clash of styles will be display in this one with Nashville leading the league in defense with just 12 goals conceded this season while St. Louis have the best goal differential in the MLS, piling on 33 goals this season in the front third and conceding just 16 for a +16 GD. Our prediction model can't see the reason why the odds are so disproportionate in favor of Nashville, detecting a 2% edge on St. Louis' +450 moneyline odds. Once again, a double chance play makes the most sense.

LAFC vs. Kansas City

After a rough week in which they've dropped back-to-back games against the Houston Dynamo, our model sees Los Angeles getting things back on track against Kansas City on Saturday night. While LAFC have struggled for scoring, going goalless in their last three games, City's away form has been miserable, winning just once in their 10 trips on the road. LA are within touch of getting to the top of the Western Conference standings and it's an opportunity we think they'll take.
