MLB Playoffs Divisional Round Best Bets

The MLB postseason is rolling on and the Divisional Round is here! The league's eight remaining teams will compete for MLB supremacy and we are ready to go series by series and determine the best bets to make. We enter the Divisional Round with just eight teams left to bet on. We’ll still be betting on baseball nightly with our MLB picks, best MLB bets today, MLB player props and more, but it’s the last chance to get some action on World Series odds before the postseason begins so we’re here to help you find the best value in October.

With only eight teams left, it's important to look at each individual matchup before placing your bets, which is why we will go through all four series to determine the Best Bets to place in the MLB Playoffs.

Now, before you place any wagers, you should know that it definitely pays to have more than one funded US Sportsbook account when betting on sports.

For example, did you know that new users at bet365 can get $365 in bonus bets after betting just $1? That's easily one of the best promos to take advantage of when betting on this postseason.

Rangers vs. Orioles

The Texas Rangers started rolling in the Wildcard Round, sweeping two games against Tampa, but with the help of some shoddy defense from the Rays in Game 1. Looking ahead to the next round, the loaded Baltimore Orioles await, and Baltimore feels like the next potential dynasty in Major League Baseball with loads of young talent ready to burst onto the scene in October. Baltimore owns the best record in the American League, and won the regular season series 8-5.

DimersBOT expects a close series here, but gives the slight edge to Baltimore, who currently holds a 24.2% probability to win the American League compared to the Rangers' 20.8% chances of doing the same. The value is on Baltimore to advance, but we expect this one may go the distance.

Best Bet: Orioles to advance (-115)

Prediction: Orioles in 5

Twins vs. Astros

Next we stay in the American League, but move to Houston where the Astros will take on the Minnesota Twins. It's a revenge series for Carlos Correa who makes his way to the Twins and has helped revive the franchise after years of storied playoff runs (and trash can banging) in Houston. Prior to Minnesota's sweep of the Blue Jays in the Wildcard Round, the Twins had lost nine consecutive postseason series, but the tides may be changing. Houston is still Houston however, and Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve and Kyle Tucker will be there to answer.

DimersBOT gives Houston the stronger chance to make a deep run in these playoffs, as the Astros have a 16% chance to hoist the World Series trophy. But don't count out the Twins either, as our model still gives them a 22% chance to win the American League.  Given both of those projections, the value is on the series to go all the way to the end.

Best Bet: Over 4.5 Games (+155)

Prediction: Astros in 5

Braves vs. Phillies

Off to the National League, where the most exciting series on paper features the star-studded Atlanta Braves and the postseason magic of the Philadelphia Phillies. It's a shame that they have to face off so early, as these are two of DimersBOT's favorite teams this season. Atlanta boasts ten different players who hit 11 or more homers this season, led by Matt Olson's league-leading 54 dingers. It will be tough for the Philadelphia starters to overcome this loaded lineup.

Our model agrees, marking the Braves as the heavy favorite to win the World Series, with a 24% likelihood of ending up as Champs (a full 8% higher than the runner-up Dodgers). If you go further back to just winning the National League, the Braves have a 39% probability to win the pennant compared to Philadelphia's 13%. You can get some great plu money value on the Braves to win decisively here.

Best Bet: Braves -1.5 Games (+155)

Prediction: Braves in 4

Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers

And for the final series of the first round, we stay in the National League with a look to the D-Backs vs. the Dodgers. Los Angeles is the heavy favorite here, and for good reason. With Clayton Kershaw to turn to and a loaded squad filled with offensive talent, it's hard to see the Diamondbacks putting up much of a fight. Arizona only went 43-46  this season as an underdog, and the Dodgers went 87-50 as a favorite. LA will be favored throughout this series, and we expect them to capitalize.

DimersBOT agrees, marking Los Angeles as the biggest threat to the Braves to win the World Series. The Dodgers have a 30% likelihood of winning the National League, compared to Arizona's lowly 13%. We smell a sweep...

Best Bet: Dodgers Win 3-0 (+350)

Prediction: Dodgers in 3
