Monday MLB Parlay Analysis

Rockies vs. Pirates - 6:35PM EST

LEG 1: Jack Suwinski 1+ HR (+700) with DraftKings

We start off our Monday parlay with Jack Suwinski, who gets a 23.6% probability from our model (third-highest on the night) and an 11.1% edge in the odds (the highest of the night). His odds of +700 imply just a 12.5% probability, making him an excellent value play. Though he's in a bit of a slump, we have several reasons to back him tonight.

Three of Suwinski's six home runs have come against the Rockies this year, including one against Kyle Freeland when they last faced each other. Freeland (3.76 ERA) has been solid this year and doesn't profile as a major home run pitcher, but he's given up seven home runs in his last five starts and didn't make it through 3 innings the last time he faced the Pirates.

Athletics vs. Yankees - 7:05PM EST

LEG 2: Anthony Rizzo 1+ HR (+400) with DraftKings

We head to the Bronx for leg number two. We're looking to take advantage of the Yankees' patented short porch tonight. Anthony Rizzo hit a bomb last night and we're asking him to do it again. Rizzo gets the second-highest HR probability on the slate according to our model, slotting in at 25.2% to go with a nice edge of 5.2%.

Rizzo draws a matchup with the A's JP Sears. (5.06 ERA). Sears has one of the lower average exit velocity tendencies in MLB, but he does give up a lot of barrels (bottom 12%) which bodes well in Yankee Stadium. He's given up at least one home run in every start but his most recent this year and has struggled with command and limiting contact.
