First things first: if you’re not signed up at FanDuel, head on over and do so ASAP. They’re offering new users $150 in bonus bets for placing just a $5 bet, win or lose. Combined with the Dinger Tuesday promotion, you could leave tonight’s slate with up to or over $200 in bonus bets, an excellent bankroll builder for any recreational sports bettor.

What is Dinger Tuesday?

Dinger Tuesday is an exclusive promotion from FanDuel Sportsbook and one of the best promos across all of sports betting. Here’s how it works: place one $25+ bet on any player to hit a home run in any Tuesday night MLB game, and for every home run hit by either team in the game, you will earn $5 in bonus bets, up to a maximum of $25 per game.

In short, win or lose, you could potentially cash in $25 in bonus bets for every game in which you place a home run prop.

Note: Some users have a $25 per game cap while others may have a max cap of $50 in bonus bet winnings. Be sure to check your opt-in details.

How should you bet Dinger Tuesday?

There are multiple approaches to this promo: you could place a bet on the most likely player to hit a home run in any given game; if they hit one, you cash in plus have the potential of bonus bet payouts for any additional home runs. You could also target a longshot with hopes of a massive payout and the chance to get some of your bet back if it loses. Either way, you want to target games with a high total and a stronger chance for home runs.

Regardless of which strategy you choose, we’ve identified the Cubs vs. Angels game as tonight’s best value for capitalizing on Dinger Tuesday at FanDuel. Below, you’ll find a preview of the game along with the five players we’ve identified with an HR probability over 20%, as well as an edge over the book with their posted odds.

Cubs vs. Angels 9:38PM EST Preview

Dinger Tuesday Best Bets

Player Odds Probability
Mike Trout +285 32.9%
Shohei Ohtani +285 30.6%
Hunter Renfroe +370 30.1%
Jared Walsh +520 23.1%
Brandon Drury +420 23.0%

Our model is absolutely in love with the Angels today. We have three props at 30% or greater in the same game which is uncommon. Hunter Renfroe gets the best value with nearly a 10% edge at +370. You'll obviously have to pay up for notable sluggers Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, but both make a fair play.

As far as pitching matchups go, Hayden Wesneski (4.81 ERA) takes the mound for the Cubbies. He's a vulnerable pitcher, with a low fastball velocity and a penchant for giving up barrels (the perfect combination of launch angle and exit velocity). He's allowed ten home runs this year and is two starts removed from a four-HR outing against the Twins, a lineup not unlike the Angels in terms of power potential.

Tyler Anderson (5.47 ERA) toes the rubber for the Angels in this one. Our model isn't pulling any value in the home run props for the Cubs lineup. Anderson has been two different pitchers this year; he allowed six home runs in April before settling down and giving up just one last month. He's not an extreme home run pitcher in terms of his Statcast metrics, but that's why we're backing the Angels hitters. Any homers form the Cubs can just add to our bonus bet take, after all.

It’s worth noting that all of these home run props have better odds on DraftKings and BetMGM, and sometimes significantly, but you won’t get the advantage of the Dinger Tuesday bonus bets. They are still recommended plays on the other books, especially with a larger payout.
