MLB Home Run Props for Dinger Tuesday, July 18: Dodgers vs. Orioles

It’s Dinger Tuesday at FanDuel! Combining two of our favorite things, home runs and betting, this is without a doubt the best day of the week for bettors. Let’s start the party with the game that we're locking in on.

BEST BETS: Tuesday's Best Bets From Every Sport - July 18, 2023

First things first: if you’re not signed up at FanDuel, head on over and do so ASAP. They’re offering new users a risk-free bet up to $1,000 on your first wager. Combined with the Dinger Tuesday promotion, there's no other place you should be betting on home runs this Tuesday.

What is Dinger Tuesday?

Dinger Tuesday is an exclusive promotion from FanDuel Sportsbook and one of the best promos across all of sports betting. Here’s how it works: place one $25+ bet on any player to hit a home run in any Tuesday night MLB game, and for every home run hit by either team in the game, you will earn $5 in bonus bets, up to a maximum of $25 per game.

In short, win or lose, you could potentially cash in $25 in bonus bets for every game in which you place a home run prop.

Note: Some users have a $25 per game cap while others may have a max cap of $50 in bonus bet winnings. Be sure to check your opt-in details.

How should you bet Dinger Tuesday?

There are multiple approaches to this promo: you could place a bet on the most likely player to hit a home run in any given game; if they hit one, you cash in plus have the potential of bonus bet payouts for any additional home runs. You could also target a longshot with hopes of a massive payout and the chance to get some of your bet back if it loses. Either way, you want to target games with a high total and a stronger chance for home runs.

Regardless of which strategy you choose, we’ve identified the Dodgers vs. Orioles game as tonight’s best value for capitalizing on Dinger Tuesday at FanDuel. Below, you’ll find a preview of the game along with the five players we’ve identified with a home run probability over 30%, as well as an edge over the book with their posted odds.

We're heading to Camden Yards for Dinger Tuesday, as we look at the Dodgers and Orioles to mash up to five home runs for us.

The Dodgers have hit the second-most home runs in all of MLB this year with 152 and have consistently been a source of profit in our home run parlays and round robins. The Orioles have the 12th-most with 113 so we're getting plenty of power hitters in this one.

Mookie Betts alone has hit 27 home runs this season, including four in his last six games dating back to just before the All-Star Break. Max Muncy isn't too far behind with 23 in the midst of a resurgent season, as he's now on pace to match his career-high. In the Orioles' dugout, Anthony Santander leads the way with 17 homers, and while Ryan O'Hearn has just seven on the year, he's done so in less than half the at-bats.

Tonight's pitching matchups work well in our favor, as Orioles' starter Tyler Wells has allowed 21 home runs this year, tied for the third-most in all of MLB. This is a career-high mark and he's already matched his innings total from last season. He gives up one of the highest max exit velocities among qualified starting pitchers and is in the bottom 9th percentile of the league in Barrel %, which is the perfect combination of launch angle and exit velo.

On the Dodgers' side of things, starter Michael Grove has given up 9 home runs in just 47 innings of work, giving him the fourth-highest HR/9 innings out of any starter on Tuesday.

If you're looking to target a longshot, we'd suggest Adley Rutschman at +600 with a 27% probability or even Adam Frazier at +1400 with a respectable 16.2% probability.

It’s worth noting that all of these home run props have better odds on DraftKings and BetMGM, and sometimes significantly, but you won’t get the advantage of the Dinger Tuesday bonus bets. They are still recommended plays on the other books, especially with a larger payout.
