Best MLB Prop Bets Today

Padres vs. Mets, 8:07PM ET

BET: Manny Machado 1+ HR (+520)
BET: Mark Canha 1+ HR (+870)

Home runs are going to be tough to come by today as the Wild Card round opens with four games across the country, but as the day turns into night in Queens, we expect there to be a little more movement when the Padres and Mets close out the quadruple header. Both Max Scherzer and Yu Darvish will be starting on the mound, and they head into this one off the back of a couple of down games, both recording losses in their most recent start - both of which came with home runs allowed to the opposition. In Scherzer's case, it was two.

For San Diego, Manny Machado is the obvious play from the Friars to go yard. He's done it before against Scherzer and he has a respectable batting avg against one of the premier pitchers in the league. Not to mention, he's far and away the Padres' biggest offensive threat. 

With Yu Darvish also somewhat vulnerable, it's hard to look past Mark Canha as a high value play. Canha has been something of an X-Factor for the Mets this season - a valuable offseason addition who came across from the Athletics. He broke his homer drought in the final game of the regular season against the Nationals and could get back to some of his early season form and ensure that New York are given every chance of winning this game.
