MLB Betting Trends Wednesday July 6, 2022: Who's Hot, Who's Not and Where You Should Bet
Betting on baseball is all about knowing who's hot and who's not.
Dimers.com contributor Tony Bellissimo tours both camps in the Wednesday July 6, 2022 edition of Who's Hot and Who's Not in the MLB right now.

Which MLB team is hot right now?
The Detroit Tigers have one of the worst records in baseball at 33-47, but they’ve won three straight and four of their last five. They even swept a doubleheader from red-hot Cleveland on the 4th of July, thanks in large part to Jonathan Schoop who went 6-for-8 in the twin bill.

Detroit will try to match its season-best win streak of four by completing a sweep of the Guardians.
Which MLB team is cold right now?
Injuries and inconsistency have been the story lately for the San Francisco Giants, who are 2-9 in their last 11 games following last night’s 6-2 defeat at Arizona. It was also their sixth consecutive loss, and the slide has them just one game over .500 after they were 10 games over three weeks ago.
The Giants have fallen to third place in the NL West, now behind the San Diego Padres and — gag — the Dodgers; San Francisco is 9.5 games behind LA. The Giants have lost five games in a row, and 11 of the last 14. https://t.co/SjcoZ2nX3P

A four-game road trip to San Diego looms, so things may get worse before they get better.
MLB players: Who is in hot form?
You’d think with how well the Cleveland Guardians are playing, ace Shane Bieber’s 3.16 ERA and 1.16 WHIP heading into Wednesday’s outing at Detroit would translate to a better record than 3-4.

Bieber is a consistent strikeout producer every time he takes the mound and if he keeps pitching as he has, the wins will start to pile up. He dominated the Tigers May 22, scattering six hits and two walks with 10 strikeouts in a 4-2 victory.
MLB Players: Who is out of form?
After a late start to the season due to injury, Oakland starter James Kaprielian lost each of his first five decisions before finally getting in the win column last week with a solid outing against Seattle.
After officiating Matt Chapman’s wedding in the offseason, Oakland Athletics pitcher James Kaprielian figures to face the former A’s third baseman Wednesday in his start against the Blue Jays.https://t.co/7bAWbdMiny

He went six innings for the first time in 2022 and will likely have a bumpy road navigating through a scary Toronto lineup tonight. He’s 1-5 with a rough 5.43 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.
MLB Players born on July 6
Andrew Benintendi
The subject of trade rumors leading up to the annual deadline at the end of July, Kansas City’s Andrew Benintendi turns 28 today and even though his power numbers are down, is worth a look against Houston’s Christian Javier. Benintendi is batting .313 but has only 3 homers.

However, he homered on his birthday last year.

Manny Machado
Manny Machado continues to be a lynchpin to San Diego’s success and turns the big 3-0 on Wednesday.

A career .282 hitter, Machado is on pace to finish with his highest single-season batting average (.318) and on-base percentage (.392.) He needs 3 more RBIs to reach 800 for his career. Machado went 3-for-4 with 3 runs scored and one RBI on last year’s birthday.
Unfortunately, if you want to bet on Machado, you'll have to wait a day as the Padres are off today before opening a three-game series at home against San Francisco on Thursday.
