MLB Betting Trends Thursday June 30, 2022: Who's Hot, Who's Not and Where You Should Bet

Betting on baseball is all about knowing who's hot and who's not.

Dimers.com contributor Tony Bellissimo tours both camps in the Thursday June 30, 2022 edition of Who's Hot and Who's Not in the MLB right now.

Which MLB team is hot right now?

Coming off a mini two-game sweep of the Rays in Tampa, the Milwaukee Brewers are rolling as of late with four straight wins and carry a  25-18 road record into Pittsburgh for four games beginning Thursday.

The Brew Crew swept three from the Pirates at PNC Park earlier this season. About the lone negative is closer Josh Hader (25 saves), who finished off the Rays on back-to-back days, may not be available for the series opener.

Which MLB team is cold right now?

The Cincinnati Reds are still trying to recover from a 3-22 start. While they’ve improved by leaps and bounds from April, and recently welcomed back second baseman Jonathan India to the lineup, there’s a long way still to go to respectability.

The Reds (26-48) have the worst record in the NL and worst ERA in the majors at 5.37 and will turn to promising Graham Ashcraft (4-1, 3.27 ERA) in a series finale tonight at Wrigley against the Cubs.

MLB players: Who is in hot form?

If the Washington Nationals play their cards right as the trade deadline approaches, they should get a nice haul in return for switch-hitting first baseman Josh Bell. A free agent at the end of the season, Bell has played in all 76 games this season and is batting .311 with 11 homers and 49 RBIs.

He’s due to take a trip around the bases with no homers in 10 games and is back in action Friday against Florida.

MLB Players: Who is out of form?

A key injury has opened the door to more playing time in Seattle for Adam Frazier, who hasn’t had the same success in the batter’s box since he was traded away by Pittsburgh midway through last season.

With starting second baseman Ty France (elbow injury) out at least another week, Frazier will get the bulk of at-bats in the interim. After hitting .305 last season, he’s struggled to the tune of .221 and is just 16 for his last 101 heading into tonight’s game against Oakland.
