Which MLB team is hot right now?
Even though they donned this position a few days ago, it’s impossible to ignore the Seattle Mariners and their 10-game win streak. They were rained out in Washington on Monday, so instead swept a double dip from the Nationals on Tuesday with Jesse Winker homering in both games and Paul Sewald saving both.
Seattle, now 47-42 and much second-best in the AL West, will try to stay hot in Texas with Marco Gonzales on the mound.

Which MLB team is cold right now?
Catching the ice-cold Toronto Blue Jays didn’t help the fortunes of the Philadelphia Phillies, who fell twice in Canada as their losing streak swelled to four straight.
If the Phillies miss the playoffs by a game or two, this Toronto series shouldn’t be forgotten. Depleted lineup (by both bad luck and personal choice) and innings given to pitchers that belong in AAA and AA.

The Phillies get today off before beginning a weekend set in Miami against the Marlins and Sandy Alcantara, who’s been nothing short of dominant on the mound.
MLB players: Who is in hot form?
Sizzling most of the season but especially since the beginning of July, Austin Riley has 7 homers and 15 RBIs this month already and helping carry the defending World Series champs back into contention for the NL East. The Braves are snug in a wild-card spot and inching closer to the Mets.

Riley, who had 33 homers, 107 RBIs and a .303 average in 2021, is already at 25 dingers and 58 RBIs and picking up a lot of the slack for the injured Ozzie Albies.

MLB Players: Who is out of form?
Just to be pitching in the majors and staying healthy is awesome for Carlos Carrasco, whose been a huge piece for the Mets while Jacob deGrom remains out and Max Scherzer missed a month.
However, Carrasco’s ERA has jumped a run per game since May 21, from 3.50 to 4.55, and his WHIP from 1.14 to 1.34 over the same time span. He’s yielded 8 home runs in his last six starts and faces the Cubs at Wrigley tonight.

MLB Players Born on July 14
Andrew Velasquez
With the recent call-up of Stretch and expected return of David Fletcher from injury soon, playing time won’t be easy for Andrew Velasquez to find. Of his fifth team in as many MLB seasons, Velasquez provides the Angels with a solid glove and speed.
He has a team-high 11 stolen bases without being caught. The problem is, he’s batting only .164. If he’s in the lineup on his 28th birthday, he’ll face Houston’s Framber Valdez.

Tyler Alexander
A left-handed utility knife for the Detroit Tigers, Tyler Alexander can operate as a specialist out of the bullpen or a spot starter. He’s done both jobs in 2022, making 4 starts and 8 relief appearances. The Tigers are in Cleveland tonight to take on the Guardians, whom they swept last week. Alexander is 2-3 with a 4.30 ERA.

Carson Kelly
Turning 28 today and in need of some birthday fortune is Arizona’s Carson Kelly. He was having a strong 2021 campaign before injuries derailed it and limited him to 98 games. He had 13 homers and 46 RBIs and drew 44 walks for an on-base percentage of .343. This year, it’s not the same story. He has 3 homers, 12 RBIs and a dismal .226 OBP.
Unfortunately, if you want to bet on this birthday boy, his Diamondbacks are off today.
