MLB Betting Insights 07/11/2022

Which MLB team is hot right now?

How about those Baltimore Orioles? With a team salary lower than Max Scherzer’s, the O’s have won eight straight and starting to draw some fans to Camden Yards where they are 25-17.

Baltimore swept four from the Angels and now gets a travel day before facing the Cubs at Wrigley for a pair. A victory on Tuesday would put the Orioles at .500. Quite impressive considering as a team they’re batting just .230.

Which MLB team is cold right now?

With one week to go before the All-Star break, it doesn’t appear as though any team in the AL East is going to threaten the first-place New York Yankees. Coming off a painful three-game sweep in Cincinnati, the Tampa Bay Rays will try to right their ship against Boston.

The Rays lost two extra-inning affairs to the Reds and then got blown out in yesterday’s finale, leaving them at 45-40. Making matters worse, SS Wander Franco (wrist) and OF Kevin Kiermaier (hip) are back on the IL.

MLB players: Who is in hot form?

He might not be tearing the cover off the ball in terms of average and is going down on strikes roughly once per game, but Kansas City is getting some nice production from young catcher MJ Melendez while veteran All-Star Sal Perez remains on the shelf.

The 23-year-old Melendez blasted 3 home runs last week and enters tonight’s game in Detroit with 9 dingers and 24 RBIs in 200 at-bats.

MLB Players: Who is out of form?

With no homers or RBIs over his last 15 games, Jared Walsh is in the biggest slump of his career. Though he’s still on pace to smack 25 homers and drive in 80 runs thanks to a strong start, there hasn’t been much production from the Angels’ first baseman who raked in his first full season in the big leagues in 2021 with 29 homers, 98 RBIs and a .277 average.

He takes a .247 average into Tuesday’s matchup with Houston’s Luis Garcia.
