MLB Betting Insights 08/15/2022
Which MLB team is hot right now?
It’s more like the Dodger Days of August than the Dog Days. Los Angeles was
perfect this month with 12 consecutive victories until Sunday when it lost to
Kansas City, which got a dominant pitching performance from Brady Singer to
cool off manager Dave Roberts’ club.
The Dodgers will try to start a new streak tonight in Milwaukee as they look for their 80th win. They rank first in MLB in runs and ERA, as well as second in batting average. They’re 16-2 in their last 18 and have by far the largest division lead with San Diego 16 games off the pace in he NL West.
Which MLB team is cold right now?
With a 2-9 record in their last 11 games after getting blanked on Sunday night in
Boston, the New York Yankees are slumping at the wrong time. Still, despite the
slide they’ve only lost two games to their closest AL East rival during the stretch
and hold a 10-game cushion over Toronto. New York carries the best home record
in baseball (41-15) into tonight’s game against Tampa Bay and should take out
some frustrations on the Rays.
MLB players: Who is in hot form?
New York Mets SS Francisco Lindor is making everyone forget about his subpar
2021 campaign and is a major reason why his team is a serious World Series
contender. Lindor, who batted almost 50 points below is career average last season
(.230) with only 63 RBIs, just enjoyed a crazy streak of scoring a run in 12
consecutive games.
Over the past two weeks he’s been sizzling: 22-for-58, 4
homers, 15 RBIs and 16 runs. He’s on pace to hit 30 homers and drive in 120 runs
and will try to do damage tonight against Atlanta’s Spencer Strider in a NL East
showdown.
MLB Players: Who is out of form?
On the other side of Lindor’s town and also on the other side of a hot streak is New
York Yankees 2B Gleyber Torres. His last 57 at-bats have produced only 7 hits
for a .123 batting average, no home runs and a couple of RBIs.
Even more
alarming is Torres has struck out 20 times and walked only once during this ugly
stretch for a 40 percent whiff rate. Over the past month his average has dropped
from .275 to .249. The Yanks host Tampa Bay tonight.
