Which MLB team is hot right now?
While the city of Denver just celebrated a Stanley Cup championship, fans haven’t had much to cheer about at Coors Field. The Colorado Rockies last saw the .500 mark on May 15 when they were 17-17.
Now they’re 41-49 entering Friday night’s home game against Pittsburgh. The Rockies have a three-game winning streak and captured four of their last five, so there’s some positivity to build off.

Which MLB team is cold right now?
Running away with the best record in MLB are the New York Yankees, but heading into the final weekend before the All-Star break they’ve lost 4 of 5 and giving up runs (6.8 per game over the stretch) in bunches.
The Yankees & Red Sox battled each other nine times in the Bronx this year.

The Yanks still hold a 13-game lead over second-place Tampa Bay in the AL East heading into tonight’s game at home against Boston. New York just dropped two of three at home to Cincinnati and will be highly motivated to stop the bleeding.

MLB players: Who is in hot form?
With the trade deadline on the horizon, the Washington Nationals figure to send Josh Bell and Nelson Cruz as well as other pieces packing to contenders. That’ll leave Juan Soto on an island over the final two months of the season without much protection in the lineup.

Soto has been on fire in recent weeks with 15 hits in his last 34 at-bats, 5 homers and 9 RBIs and a .600 on-base percentage. He’ll face Atlanta’s Ian Anderson on Friday night.

MLB Players: Who is out of form?
San Diego closer Taylor Rogers is having a nice season for the Padres with 24 saves. Acquired just prior to the season on a trade with Minnesota, his numbers are starting to trend in the wrong direction.
Over the past two weeks, Rogers is sporting an ERA of 13.50 despite a couple of saves. He’s allowed 10 hits in his last four innings of work and his ERA on the year has swelled to 4.04.

MLB Players Born on July 15
Ramon Laureano
One of the more well-rounded players likely on the trade block, Oakland’s Ramon Laureano is a free agent at the end of this season and will be a hot commodity in a few weeks with contending teams looking to add a nice piece. The 28-year-old is a stud outfielder with a career .260 batting average, good speed and occasional pop in his bat. Probably his last birthday as a member of the A’s will be spent facing Houston’s Justin Verlander.
