MLB Betting Trends Friday July 1, 2022: Who's Hot, Who's Not and Where You Should Bet

Betting on baseball is all about knowing who's hot and who's not.

Dimers.com contributor Tony Bellissimo tours both camps in the Friday July 1, 2022 edition of Who's Hot and Who's Not in the MLB right now.

MLB Betting Insights 07/01/2022

Which MLB team is hot right now?

The Seattle Mariners are under .500 at home (18-19) as well as on the road (19-22), but they’re heading into July riding a positive vibe after beating Oakland last night for their eighth victory in 10 games.

Southpaw Marco Gonzales takes the mound in the second game of the series against the A’s and will look to improve on his 4-8 mark. His ERA of 3.31 suggest he has a strong chance to do so against one of the weakest teams in the majors.

Which MLB team is cold right now?

The New York Mets have dropped three straight and five of their last seven, with four of those defeats during the span coming to Houston.

The Mets are still a rock-solid 47-29 heading into a weekend set at CitiField against Texas and will try to get their offense back on track against Glenn Otto. New York ranks fourth in MLB in runs scored and batting average but produced just 18 runs over the aforementioned seven-game stretch.

MLB players: Who is in hot form?

Although he only has a .500 record (5-5) to show for it, Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas has been pitching well and deserves better. He takes a 2.57 ERA and 0.96 WHIP into tonight’s matchup with Philadelphia.

Mikolas was one out away from a no-hitter June 14 and has allowed only 5 earned runs over his last four starts — a total of 32 innings — with 27 strikeouts and 4 walks. He hasn’t faced the Phillies yet this season.

MLB Players: Who is out of form?

You don’t want to be known as a strikeout machine unless you’re a pitcher. That’s not the case for Cleveland’s Franmil Reyes. His 149 strikeouts last season was something manager Terry Francona could stomach since Reyes blasted 30 homers and drove in 85 runs.

However, so far 2022 has been a different story in terms of production. Reyes has whiffed 72 times in 161 at-bats and has only four homers and 16 RBIs.
