Which MLB team is hot right now?

What a difference less than a week has made for the St. Louis Cardinals. They swept a doubleheader from the Cubs on Thursday to run their winning streak to four games and pull into a first-place tie atop the NL Central.

St. Louis is 32-20 at home, and look who’s coming to Busch Stadium tonight: the New York Yankees. Dakota Hudson gets the nod and will try to keep Aaron Judge and former Cardinal Matt Carpenter from doing too much damage.

Which MLB team is cold right now?

Few could have predicted the now NL Central co-leading Milwaukee Brewers dropping three straight games to the Pittsburgh Pirates this week, including two in walk-off fashion as the bullpen failed the Brew Crew on the heels of the surprising trade of Josh Hader to the San Diego Padres.

With the Cards breathing down their necks and evening up the race, look for the Brewers to respond this weekend against the Cincinnati Reds in Cincinnati beginning tonight with southpaw Eric Lauer on the bump.

MLB players: Who is in hot form?

One of the best stories of the MLB season so far has been the vast improvement of the Baltimore Orioles, who won against the Texas Rangers yesterday to up their record to 54-51. While the O’s are no lock to avoid finishing in the AL East basement once again, they’re not pushovers.

Anthony Santander has been a consistent hitter all season and lately he’s on fire. He’s 19 for 49 (.388 avg.) with four homers and 13 RBIs since mid-July and has gone deep 19 times on the year and driven home 58.

MLB Players: Who is out of form?

The Seattle Mariners are serious about making a push for the playoffs and can certainly use the bat of J.P. Crawford to help them get there. He’s a respectable .252 career hitter and on the plus side of that this year at .262. However, he hasn’t done much with the stick in recent weeks, going 12 for 50 with only a couple of RBIs and five runs scored.

Crawford will try to get back on track Friday at home against the Los Angeles Angels’ Patrick Sandoval.
