Los Angeles Chargers 2022 Win Total Prediction, Computer Picks and Super Bowl Odds
The 2022 NFL season is firmly on the horizon and over the coming weeks the Dimers crew will break down the chances of each and every team, all vying for Super Bowl 57 glory in Glendale, Arizona come February.
Let's take a look at the key factors to consider when betting on the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022.
The Chargers were one of the NFL’s most-exciting teams in 2021 but failed to make the playoffs after a painful overtime loss to the Raiders in the final game of the regular season when a tie would’ve done the trick.
How will the Chargers bounce back from that disappointment in 2022?

Quarterback Justin Herbert (5,014 yards, 38 TDs, 15 INTs) directed the No. 2 ranked passing offense and his supporting cast returns mostly intact. Game-changing wideout Mike Williams re-signed for three years and makes for a lethal combination with Keenan Allen. Both had over 1,100 yards receiving and combined for 15 scores last year. Gerald Everett is considered an upgrade at tight end over the aging Jared Cook. Austin Ekeler (20 total TDs) can do it all out of the backfield.
Defensively, a healthy Khalil Mack would go a long way in taking the unit to the next level. The Chargers boast one of the more talented secondaries with Derwin James, J.C. Jackson, Nasir Adderley and Asante Samuel Jr. at corner.
Austin Ekeler currently ranks 9th in Chargers franchise history in rushing yds (2,812). He has an opportunity to pass 8th Don Woods (2,858), 7th Chuck Muncie (3,309), 6th Natrone Means (3,885), and 5th Ryan Mathews (4,061) this year.

“We put in some good work here during the offseason,” Herbert told members of the local media during a May 23 press conference. “I think the biggest thing to understand is that we’re miles ahead of where we were last year.”
DimersBOT: In our model's 10,000 simulations of the upcoming NFL season, the Chargers averaged 9.65 wins per year. So, whether you're finding this total at 10 or 10.5, you're probably better off going with the Under — especially in a division this competitive.
Los Angeles Chargers X-Factor - Khalil Mack, LB
The Chargers traded second- and sixth-round picks to the Chicago Bears and picked up the last three years of Mack’s fat contract. He’s a six-time Pro Bowler who had 36 sacks and 14 forced fumbles in 53 games with the Bears but missed the last 10 games of last season after foot surgery. Paired on the edge with Joey Bosa, he’s the key to bringing the Chargers D to the next level.
Los Angeles Chargers Super Bowl 57 Chances
Herbert is only 24 years old and has just as many tools around him as Joe Burrow.
The Chargers are live Super Bowl contenders but first must navigate through a division many experts believe is the strongest in the league. But if all the major parts stay healthy and this team finds a way to win the close ones (five one-possession defeats in 2021), the sky could be the limit for these Chargers.
DimersBOT: Our model gives the Chargers a 3.4% chance of winning the Super Bowl, which the 12th-highest mark in the league. So, it might not be all that likely, but there is value to be had here.
