La Liga Soccer Week 4 Best Bets
Real Madrid vs. Real Betis Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday 10:15AM ET
There are only two teams in La Liga who have won all three of their games and that’s Real Madrid and Real Betis. They meet on Saturday and the winner will have the sole lead of La Liga.
We know all about the brilliance of Real Madrid and they’ve played brilliantly, scoring nine goals in three games, more than anybody else this season, but it’s worth noting that they open their Champions League campaign on Tuesday and there’s a chance that they rest players.
The key to Real Betis' great start this season has been their defense which has conceded just one goal so far. I’m expecting them to sit back as the visiting team, put all 11 men behind the ball and challenge Los Blancos to pick them apart. For that reason the +175 for Under 2.5 goals looks like a good bet.
BET: Under 2.5 Goals at +175 at Caesars
Real Sociedad vs. Atletico Madrid Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday 12:30PM ET
Both Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid have two wins and a loss to their name this season. Sociedad got wins over Cadiz and Elche, two of La Liga’s weaker sides and also succumbed to a heavy defeat against Barcelona.
They’ve now lost Alexander Isak, who moved to Newcastle in the past week. Without their star striker, I think that they’re going to struggle to score. Before Isak had left they were already underperforming xG, scoring just three goals from an xG of 5.25, now without the big Swede they are in trouble.
Atletico Madrid have also scored under their xG but they haven’t just lost their star player and the absence of Isak hands the advantage to Diego Simeone’s team. I’d expect them to claim a win on the road here.
BET: Atletico Madrid to win at +155 with Bet365 (if you're in New Jersey or Colorado)
Sevilla vs. Barcelona Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday 3:00PM ET
This doesn’t look like a vintage Sevilla this season, which makes the -125 odds available on a Barcelona win look very attractive. I’d recommend wagering on that but I’d also bet on this player prop too: Fernando to get booked at +162.
The 35-year old Brazilian defensive midfielder has already picked up one booking this season and picked up six in 21 starts last season, but this will be a very tough game for him. Fernando’s aging legs will struggle to keep up with the quick feet and incisive movement of Pedri and Gavi who could overrun him in the midfield.
The game will be officiated by Antonio Mateu who has already given five yellow cards and one red card in his single La Liga performance this season and has averaged 4.86 yellow cards per game in his 247 games as a La Liga referee. Make sure you back Fernando to get booked with Mateu as the referee.
BET: Fernando to get booked at +162 at Bet365 (if you're in New Jersey or Colorado)
