La Liga Soccer Week 3 Best Bets
Rayo Vallecano vs. Mallorca
Kickoff: Saturday 1:30PM ET
Coming into this weekend there were only three points separating Rayo Vallecano and Mallorca but there’s a far bigger difference than just that. In the opening week Rayo Vallecano managed to draw with Barcelona before beating Espanyol on the road, despite a sending off in the 16th minute.
Los Franjirrojos play with three attacking midfielders behind Sergio Camello. The young Spaniard is yet to score this season but the loanee from Atletico Madrid is an under-21 international is highly thought of and he’s learning from the best with Radamel Falcao his backup.
Vallecano have started the season well and should be able to get a home win over Mallorca here.

Getafe vs. Villarreal
Kickoff: Sunday 11:30AM ET
Last season Villarreal went on a brilliant Champions League run and now they enter the third week of the La Liga season top of the division. Most importantly they’ve started the season in blistering form.
On the opening week they faced a tricky trip on the road and beat Valladolid 3-0, then last week an even tougher away trip to Madrid to face Atletico and they left with three points after a 2-0 victory. Now they face a third successive La Liga game on the road at the Estadio Ciudad de Valencia.
Getafe have lost both of their two games this season, conceding six goals in the process and only scoring one, while also getting a man sent off. They finished 15th in La Liga last year and it’s hard to see them doing better this season. Now they face a Villarreal team who look inspired after their successes last year. Back the Yellow Submarine at -105, they offer huge value.

Espanyol vs. Real Madrid
Kickoff: Sunday 4:00PM ET
Real Madrid have started this season like they ended the last, seemingly unbeaten. They’re still stacked with great attacking talent such as Karim Benzema and have Carlo Ancelotti, one of the best managers in the game.
They’ve won both games this season but it’s worth noting that they’ve conceded a goal in both of those victories. For years Real Madrid have been run by that famous midfield three of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Casemiro but that trio has now been broken up with Casemiro moving to Manchester United. That leaves Modric and Kroos but they’ve started just one game each, with Eduardo Camavinga and new signing Aurelien Tchouameni starting both games.
It takes a while for a new midfield to gel and Tchouameni will show his worth soon. The loss of Casemiro also causes a problem for Real’s defense, with the Brazilian instrumental in sweeping up opposition attacking and stopping chances before they develop. That leads to confusion in the backline which I believe has led to the team giving up more chances than in previous years, for that reason I’m backing Real Madrid to win the game and both teams to score at a big +200 price.
