Why We Are Betting On James Harden Props Tonight

It's the 2022 NBA playoffs and that means one man under a lot of pressure is former MVP James Harden, but as the Philadelphia 76ers again look to closeout the series against the Toronto Raptors in game 6, he looks set to perform.

Across the first five games of the Sixers' postseason campaign, James Harden has averaged 18.4 PPG, 4.8 RPG and 9.2 APG, scoring 20+ points just twice.

Despite these low number so far in the series, our predictive analytics model has him performing well tonight, with DimersBOT projecting Harden for 21 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists.

Despite much talk about his playoffs struggles, Harden's stats in closeout games are actually decent (compared to his points line tonight), with a points per game average of 22.9 across 24 games since 2011.

One game in particular that stands out in Harden's career is last year's game 5 win over the Celtics, where The Beard posted a 34-point triple double as the Nets sent the Celts packing. 

So, with all of this information on Harden and his points line low compared to what we know he can produce, let's see how we can bet on him tonight.

The Raptors have done a great job of holding Embiid so far this series, with the big man averaging 24.8 PPG, well down on his 30.6 during the regular season.

With the knowledge of this, plus Embiid's disappointing record in closeout games himself (20.4 PPG in 7 games), we're first going to take Harden to score OVER 19.5 points.

As up-and-down as Harden's time in the postseason has been over the last decade or so, his scoring talent is undeniable. If you think this is the night he goes off this series, you could do sillier things than bet on him to score 30+ points tonight.
