LEG 1: Shohei Ohtani 1+ HR (+320) with FanDuel

Okay, we know it sounds crazy, but we're going to make the case for why you should bet on Shohei Ohtani to hit a home run tonight. It's because he is Shohei Ohtani. Unless you are from outer space, you know that Ohtani is the best baseball player on this planet right now. And not just right now as in this past week when he hit five home runs in six games, or right now as in so far this season in which he leads the AL in home runs with 21. Right now, as in the entirety of our lifetimes. He is simply indescribable and we are witnessing greatness.

Ohtani gets a monster 36% probability to hit a home run tonight, the highest of any player in our model. Those odds are also good enough for a significant 13% edge in the odds, meaning he's underpriced even at his relatively short odds of +320. 

To make things even sweeter, he's toeing the rubber for the Halos tonight. There's hardly any greater motivation to sock one than to give yourself some run support. It's Sho-time.

Pirates vs. Cubs, 8:05PM ET

LEG 2: Seiya Suzuki 1+ HR (+800) with FanDuel

For leg number two, we're hoping Seiya can see "See ya!" to a pitch tonight and launch one out of Wrigley. Suzuki isn't a home run machine, but he is a power hitter with a HardHit% and Max Exit Velocity in the top 15% of the league. He slugged five home runs last month but has not hit one yet in June. DimersBOT gives him a chunky 27% chance to hit a home run tonight against the Pirates and he gets the highest +EV out of any player, with over a 14% edge in the odds.

He will face the Pirates' Johan Oviedo, a middle-of-the-pack type of pitcher. Oviedo has given up just five home runs this year, but his expected home runs is actually 7.4, so he's gotten a little lucky. This will be the first time these two face one another in a game, so there is an extra air of unpredictability in this matchup, but we're trusting the DimersBOT and betting ont he value.
