Sunday MLB Parlay Analysis

Rays vs. Red Sox, 1:35PM ET

LEG 1: Brandon Lowe 1+ HR (+550) with DraftKings

Tanner Houck gets the ball for the Red Sox on Sunday afternoon, and for the Rays bats, they'll be hoping for a similarly rough performance from the ace as his last time out where he allowed two home runs against the Diamondbacks on May 28. Our model is taking a liking to Brandon Lowe to combat Houck's favorite ball in the Slider and knock one out of the park. Weirdly, Lowe has struggled overall against breaking balls this season with his second lowest career-mark at an avg of .174, however, he has hit more home runs off of the ball type than any other type of ball in 2023 with four dingers. With breaking balls accounting for more than 35% of Houck's arsenal this season, if Lowe can get on the end of one, it could go very big. Our model has detected a 7% edge on Lowe's home run odds.

Angels vs. Astros, 2:10PM ET

LEG 2: Yordan Alvarez 1+ HR (+270) with DraftKings

We could be gearing up for a home run derby in Texas on Sunday afternoon with the Angels putting forward Griffin Canning (4-2, 4.89 ERA) as their sacrificial lamb. Canning has allowed a home run in all but two of his eight starts this season, including giving up two jacks against the White Sox in his last appearance around a week ago. This Astros team is starting to heat up in this series, dominating the Angels in the opening three games, piling on 20 runs with four home runs. Yordan Alvarez hit a home run on Friday night and comes into this one well placed, having previously smashed Canning out of the park in his career. Let the big hits continue.
