Saturday MLB Parlay Analysis

Orioles vs. Twins 2:10PM ET

LEG 1: Joey Gallo 1+ HR (+400) with FanDuel

We're getting started early today and heading to the Twin Cities, as we take Joey Gallo to hit a home run. One thing that's immediately noticeable is how much better Gallo's odds are on FanDuel, as he's around +285 on other books, so right off the bat we're getting good value. DimersBOT agrees, giving Gallo a 36% chance to hit a home run this afternoon, good enough for over a 15% edge in the odds.

Gallo has hit 15 home runs this season, and though he's gone five days without one, he hit three in his previous five games, including his most recent last Saturday to help cash 4 out of 5 of our Round Robin legs. Gallo's average is bad and always has been since he's a boom-or-bust type of hitter, but he's got raw power and a great matchup.

He'll face the Orioles' Tyler Wells, who has allowed 21 home runs this season, second most in the league. Gallo bats low in the order, so we'd like to see him get this in one of his first at-bats since the O's bullpen is one of the best in the league at limiting home runs.

Rangers vs. Nationals 4:05PM ET

LEG 2: Lane Thomas 1+ HR (+450) with FanDuel

Lane Thomas didn't come through for us the last time we had him in here, which is unfortunate because we nailed our Anthony Volpe pick that night. We're going to trust Thomas again, though. DimersBOT gives him a 26% chance of hitting a bomb today, giving us an 8% edge in the odds, a solid number for a home run prop.

Thomas has hit 14 home runs so far this season, well on his way to passing last year's career-high of 17. A brief look at his Statcast shows about 10 hard-hit balls that ended up as doubles, all just shy of leaving the yard, so he's been displaying the power all season long. He hits most of his home runs to left field, which is a fairly shallow porch in Nationals Park, which has also been allowing home runs over the league average. He's still looking for his first homer of the month, but this matchup should bode well for him today.

Thomas will open up this matchup against Andrew Heaney, who has given up 14 homers this season. He's also had five starts where he's allowed two or more. He's in the bottom 10th percentile of the league in Barrel %, a category that Lane Thomas is in the top half of the league in.
