Saturday MLB Parlay Analysis

Rays vs. Mariners 7:15PM ET

LEG 1: Julio Rodriguez 1+ HR (+400) with DraftKings

Let's get started on the West Coast, as we head to Seattle for this American League clash. We will task Julio Rodriguez yet again to come up big for us with a home run. J-Rod has hit 13 dingers this year, which isn't quite the exciting clip he was launching them at in his rookie campaign last year, but his power isn't an issue as it seems more tied to his dip in batting average.

He'll have an opportunity to collect more than a few hits (and hopefully one dinger) tonight as he'll face the Rays' Tyler Glasnow, who's been quite hittable since his return from Tommy John surgery. Glasnow is coming off his best start of the season, but it was against a middling Royals lineup. Julio will have to show discipline in this one as Glasno'w strength lies in his swing-and-miss stuff. His home run metrics are extremely in our favor, however, so if J-Rod can get underneath one, we should be saying "bye, bye baseball."

Guardians vs. Cubs 7:15PM ET

LEG 2: Christopher Morel 1+ HR (+425) with DraftKings

Our second leg is in a game happening simultaneously so maybe we'll collect this pair of bangs at roughly the same time. We're looking for Christopher Morel of the Cubs to launch one out of the ivy-laden confines of Wrigley Field. Morle has collected 14 home runs this season and he made his season debut on May 9th. Assuming he would have hit home runs at roughly the same pace over the course of the six weeks he missed, he'd be firmly in the top 10 of the league.

He will face Tanner Bibee who is about as average of a pitcher you can get. With middle-of-the-pack metrics and a total of six home runs allowed this year, he's a vanilla thrower with nothing particularly flashy in his fastball. While he's not extremely exploitable, he's not one to be wary of.

Morel also gets a 27% probability from our model to go along with a 9% edge in the odds. This is a guy who hit a home run in his first career MLB at-bat and hit a three-run homer in his season debut this year. Some guys just know when to hit home runs. He just hit one last night and we're going to back him to do it again.
