Monday MLB Parlay Analysis

Yankees vs. Tigers - 6:40PM EST

LEG 1: Spencer Torkelson 1+ HR (+400) with FanDuel

The early buzz around this game tonight centers around Yankees starter Luis Severino; one of the leakiest pitchers in the majors with an average of 2.43 homers given up per nine innings this season. The Yanks have lost four of their last five games where Severino starts, and they could be in for a torrid time once more this evening as they run into some Tigers hitters who can really mash the ball, including Spencer Torkelson.

While a lot of the hype will be around Kerry Carpenter for Detroit (in fact, don't be surprised to see Carpenter land in our daily round robin), don't sleep on Torkelson. The first baseman found some form against the Astros yesterday, recording his first hit in five games and our model thinks he could be primed to take on Severino, with a 21% chance of going yard. In two previous ABs against the Yankees starter, Torkelson was walked on both occasions. Does Severino have enough control against Torkelson? We'll find out.

Rangers vs. Mets - 7:10PM EST

LEG 1: Corey Seager 1+ HR (+280) with FanDuel

Seager has been a little down as of late when compared to his early-August form, but our model senses that may be about to change tonight against the Mets. Our home run predictor lists Seager as a 23% chance of hitting one out of the park with Tylor Megill stepping up to the mound for New York. Megill is coming off a rough game last time out agains the might of the Braves hitting rotation, giving up two home runs; the second time he's done that in his last four games. Seager is among Texas' best and should make an impact in this one.
