Free Soccer Picks and Predictions – European Leagues, Week Ending Sunday October 24
Prospector Sam is here with your free soccer picks for this weekend's European soccer action.
If I had to guess, “Prospector Sam” and “cultured world traveler” go hand in hand for just about anyone who knows me or reads my work (this is why there’s no comment section, so nobody can refute me). And, in line with that air of sophistication I let off, we now have a new home for all of my continental European bets (go read the Premier League article if you’re confused by the change). Basically, this is a nice, wholesome place to share some gambling tips, make misplaced jokes about foreign places, and maybe even throw around some recipes or other snooty stuff. Sound good? I think so too.
While I may never have been to most of these places, nor would most of them ever let me in (fun fact, I’ve been detained for smuggling before, but that’s a different story for a different day), I have a pretty solid knack for finding value on European soccer, and this will be the new home for all the odd bets on teams you may or may not have heard of. If that’s not your bag, no hard feelings and you never have to come back here again. But I think this will be the perfect spot for a lot of gambling value and some of the more odd jokes that don’t always fit in other places (not that it’s ever stopped me from making them before). With that, no reason to delay; picks!

Free La Liga Picks For Week 10, 2021-22
Valencia vs. Mallorca, Sat Oct 23, 8:00am (ET)
First stop: Spain! Both of these teams have been a bit of a nightmare lately, so trusting either of them to pull through is a dicey proposition. That said, I think we’re getting a ton of value on the Yellow Submarine here, and let me explain why. While Valencia may be a perennial mid table club in La Liga, they’re consistent in their ability to stay in that 7-12 range because they handle games they should win even if they get beat up by the top clubs. Mallorca, on the other hand, are newly promoted and frequently swing (not sexually, you pig) between the top and second division in Spain.
The away side started the season well, but things have come crashing down over the last month and a half and they now sit in 13th with a -6 GD. Valencia have had an even worse few weeks, pulling 2 points from their last 5 matches, but 4 of those were against Barca, Real, Sevilla and Bilbao. Basically, while their form is garbage, it has a lot more to do with a bad fixture schedule than anything else. Against Mallorca they should have the upper hand in terms of talent, and the home field advantage is an extra boost in terms of getting the win. While it’s not going to be an easy victory, -130 on the ML is pretty good value for this matchup when you consider Valencia is both at home and the better overall team. We don’t see blowouts in Spain these days, so don’t expect to be able to tune out early with an easy win, but I think they pull it off.
⛏️ PICK: Valencia ML (-120)

Free Bundesliga Picks For Week 9, 2021-22
Arminia Bielefeld vs. Dortmund, Sat Oct 23, 9:30am (ET)
From a casual viewing perspective, Dortmund may be the most fun club to watch in Europe right now. They play end to end soccer with little disregard for any sort of defensive tactics or discipline, and Haaland is a rare talent that can do things almost nobody else can. This team has 22 goals in 8 games for their domestic campaign, and I’m taking a stab at some goals here with that stat in mind. They are, to be delicate to our friends in Arminia (is that a real place? Or is it Bielefeld? Whatever, I don’t care enough to look), probably going to curb stomp their opponents American History X-style.
I see Dortmund putting up at least 3 against the 19th placed team in the league, and the value on that team total is surprisingly high (+118) considering the disparity in skill between these two sides. While Arminia haven’t been all that bad defensively, they also haven’t faced any of the top 3 German sides yet and I expect this one to be a rude wakeup call for them. Go with Dortmund to put up an ugly number.
⛏️ PICK: Dortmund team total OVER 2.5 (+118)
Free Ligue One Picks For Week 11, 2021-22
Lille vs. Brest, Sat Oct 23, 3:00pm (ET)
I’m going to try to be super mature here, but come on guys. Brest? How do you expect me to not make jokes like a middle school teen who just discovered porn for the first time? Well, I suppose I could be professional and respectable, but that doesn’t sound fun at all. Unfortunately for Brest, this season has not been all that enjoyable. They haven’t won a single game through 10 matches and their only points have been draws with below average sides (basically, nobody wants to touch their Brests. Or everybody gets to touch their Brests? This is tougher than I expected, I regret everything). Lille, while having a down year, have started to pick up their form with 3 wins in their last 4 matches and had enough talent to win Ligue 1 last season. Against a side struggling to hold up against anyone halfway decent, I just don’t see Lille dropping points in this game at home. The ML isn’t all that eye-catching at -170, but I think there’s a lot of value here with the gap in talent between the two. Make a comfortable bet to build some bank roll on the home side.
⛏️ PICK: Lille ML (-170)
Free Serie A Picks For Week 9, 2021-22
Bologna vs. AC Milan, Sat Oct 23, 2:45pm (ET)
Last but not least, a trip to Italy! And it’s certainly not least, because this is probably my favorite bet for this article in terms of quality and value. To stick with my extremely boring trend of betting favorites today, I like AC Milan to win this one and I think the money line is a steal at -105. Milan have an almost perfect record in Serie A, with their only points dropped being an away draw to Juventus (which isn’t exactly a bad result), and their goal difference is +11 through 8 games. While Bologna have had a decent start to the year, they’re a bottom half club with less talent at pretty much every position in this one, and they give up almost 2 goals per game. If that trend holds, which it likely will against Milan, they’re going to have a lot of trouble getting any points against the away side who concede less than a goal conceded per game. While betting a big name club to win against a town named after a below average meat might not be all that groundbreaking, the bet is sound statistically and the value is fantastic at an almost 1:1 payout. Ride AC Milan for the win here.
⛏️ PICK: Lille ML (-105)
