Top MLB Betting Trends for Thursday, June 15

1. Daulton Varsho (TOR) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 13 of last 17 games
Odds: -130

The Blue Jays slugger didn't have any luck recording a hit in Toronto's win over the Orioles last night, but given the form he is in, you can just about lock him in for one on Thursday. Varsho has registered hits in 13 of his last 17 games, and while he is coming up against a good starting pitcher in Baltimore's Tyler Wells, he may be able to strike later in the game with the O's relief pitching sitting in the middle of the road in terms of hits allowed to opposing batters in the MLB this season.

2. Ramón Laureano (OAK) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 12 of last 14 games
Odds: -165

Laureano took the night off for the Athletics last night and it might have well been the wrong move given the A's had their seven-game winning streak snapped at the hands of Tampa Bay. The outfielder should slot right back into the lineup on Thursday, ready to resume his hot hitting streak against Rays starting pitcher Taj Bradley who averages 4.6 allowed per start.

3. Lane Thomas (WAS) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 23 of last 26 games
Odds: -160

Sometimes it feels like Lane Thomas is the only one keeping the Nationals afloat these days. Despite the Nats having just one win to their name in their last nine games, Thomas has been immaculate, notching a hit in almost every game he's played over the past month. Washington will be up against it once again facing the Astros, but you'd expect Lane Thomas to find a way.

4. Shohei Ohtani (LAA) To Record an RBI

Frequency: 6 of last 10 games
Odds: +165

If Shohei Ohtani has recorded an RBI in 60% of his last 10 games, yet the odds of +165 for him to do it tonight reflect an implied probability of just 38%, you know we're backing in Sho. Ohtani went yard last night, proving that he feels comfortable on the road in these Texas confines. It feels like nothing can stop the runaway favorite for the AL MVP right now.

5. David Peralta (LAD) To Record a Hit

Frequency: 12 of last 14 games
Odds: -195

While bigger names on the Dodgers get most of the fanfare, don't sleep on David Peralta who has been immense for the boys in white and blue as of late. He has already had success during this midweek series against the White Sox, going 2-5 with a home run over his last two games. LA will be matched up against started Chicago pitcher Dylan Cease who gives up an average of 5.3 hits to his opponents over his last 10 starts.

Remember to gamble responsibly and set limits on your betting activities. It's important to approach sports betting as a form of entertainment, rather than relying on it for financial gain. Set a budget for yourself and stick to it, and never bet more than you can afford to lose.
