Top MLB Betting Trends for Thursday, June 22
1. Lane Thomas (WAS) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 14 of last 15 games
Odds: -250
Lane Thomas is by far Washington's best player and he is well and truly showing it at the moment. Thomas has gone hitless just once in the month of June and is looking to record a hit in his tenth consecutive game today against the Diamondbacks and starting Arizona pitcher Tommy Henry who has been costly as of late, allowing 16 hits over his past two starts on the bump.
2. Maikel Garcia (KC) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 11 of last 13 games
Odds: -190
Maikel Garcia is a major threat to opposing run defenses every time he steps up to the plate. Through his hitting spree, he has recorded 3+ hits in a game in two of his last four and multi hit games another two times. He faces a very good starting pitcher in Tampa Bay's Shane McClanahan but he'll be full of confidence, batting at a .321 avg vs. lefties so far this season.
3. Billy McKinney (NYY) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 11 of last 12 games
Odds: -125
McKinney featured in our top trends article yesterday and finds himself here again after homering against the Mariners last night. With hits in 11 of his last 12 and a matchup against a rookie pitcher in Brian Woo, the -125 odds on offer here for a man who is hotter than the sun is way too good to refuse.
4. Aledmys Diaz (OAK) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 5 of last 5 games
Odds: -220
Despite losing their last seven games, the Athletics aren't as pathetic as they once were earlier this season and it's due to the improved form of a lot of their hitters, like Aledmys Diaz. Diaz has now recorded hits in each of his last five games, and has increased his batting avg from .134 in April to .293 in June. Even though the A's might look doomed, we should still see Diaz continue his good form today.
5. Patrick Bailey (SF) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 6 of last 8 games
Odds: -155
While he may have gone hitless last night, don't sleep on Patrick Bailey to bounce back today against the Padres; especially at those odds. Bailey has been consistent over the past couple of weeks, recording 2+ hits in four of his last 11 games. He's also sublime against leftie pitching, going at a .346 avg this season. Going up against the left-hander Blake Snell, Bailey is in an excellent position to make an impact once more.
