Top MLB Betting Trends for Friday, June 23
1. Javier Baez (DET) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 9 of last 10 games
Odds: -225
The Tigers enjoyed some rest last night with the day off as they look to attack the Twins at home this weekend. Javier Baez has been getting on base with regularity over the past two weeks, notching two hits on Wednesday night - the fifth time during this run where he's had 2+ hits in a game. Minnesota will be sending the 0-4 Kenta Maeda to the mound. Maeda has a whopping 9.00 ERA on the season with a 1.63 WHIP - not exactly the most impressive of numbers for a pitcher looking to stop a hot hitter.
2. Nolan Jones (COL) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 9 of last 10 games
Odds: -190
Nolan Jones has been having a hell of a month of June, batting at a .368 avg, recording hits in 15 of his 19 games this month, including a four-hit effort against the rampaging Reds on Tuesday. After a night off, he back home to take on the Angels with a whole lot of confidence. This looks like a trend that is set to continue in the altitude of Coors Field.
3. Shohei Ohtani (LAA) To Hit a HR
Frequency: 7 of last 12
Odds: +310
A regular in our MLB trends article, Shohei Ohtani finds himself here once more, in the midst of a nice run of dingers. Ohtani has hit home runs in seven of his last 12 games and heads to a place in Coors Field where he has not been in almost three years. Ohtani is a much different player now and the thought of that power in the Colorado air is a tantailizing prospect.
4. Freddie Freeman (LAD) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 6 of last 6 games
Odds: -275
When Freddie Freeman gets on a hitting streak, you definitely want to climb aboard. Freeman has now notched a hit in each of his last six games - the third such time in the past six weeks where he's had a hit streak of six or more games. While the odds are extremely short on this trend, it's a great parlay piece to add for your Friday betting.
5. Andres Gimenez (CLE) To Record an RBI
Frequency: 5 of last 7 games
Odds: +200
While he wasn't able to drive in a run yesterday against the Athletics, Gimenez still kept in good touch by recording a hit for the sixth time in seven games. Batting just below hot hitters in Josh Bell, Josh Naylor and Jose Ramirez, there are no shortages of opportunities for Gimenez to get back to recording RBIs in tonight's series opener against Milwaukee.
