Top MLB Betting Trends for Friday, June 16
1. Nolan Arenado (STL) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 9 of last 9 games
Odds: -235
This won't be a bet that will make you a heap of money in isolation, but it's definitely a parlay piece for your Friday as Nolan Arenado looks to extend his hot hitting streak to 10 games as he meets the Mets in New York. Starting on the mound for the Mets will be Tylor Megill who possess a WHIP of 1.70, on the higher end for a starting pitcher in the MLB this season. He's allowed an average of 7.6 hits to opposing batters in his past three outings.
2. Marcell Ozuna (ATL) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 10 of last 11 games
Odds: -215
While he did have his hot hitting streak broken at the hands of the Rockies last night, you shouldn't be sleeping on Marcell Ozuna to get things right back on track when the two teams meet again on Friday night. Coming up against Rockies starter Dinelson Lamet who has equated as hitting practise for hitters since he moved into a starting role, this is the perfect situation for him to start a new streak.
3. Shohei Ohtani (LAA) To Record an RBI
Frequency: 8 of last 12 games
Odds: +110
It was a hot trend in our article yesterday and guess what? Nothing has changed. Shohei solidified his standing as one of the best in the game right now with a home run and two RBIs against the Rangers last night. The Angels move onto the hopeless Royals and a meeting with Brady Singer who has a 6.58 ERA this season. The odds aren't as good as the +165 we were getting yesterday but this is still worth getting on.
4. Jose Siri (TB) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 15 of last 22 games
Odds: -115
Jose Siri has been one of Tampa Bay's most reliable hitters this season, and particularly over the past month of baseball. Making this an interesting trend to keep track of are the decent odds we're getting for a hit, not to mention the form of starting Padres ace Yu Darvish. The man from Japan has been well done on his usual best this season, giving up 4ER in his last start against the Rockies, and a whopping 7ER against the Yankees two weeks ago. He's a vulnerable pitcher right now, coming up a strong batting lineup in the Rays.
5. Randy Arozarena (TB) To Record a Hit
Frequency: 10 of last 15 games
Odds: -170
Given the form of Darvish, we're eying off another Ray who might be due a big night. Randy Arozarena has been stoic over the past week, especially as the Rays have dipped a little, dropping some games against the A's, maintaining his ability to get bat on ball with hits in four of his last six games.
