FanDuel Offers NBA League Pass Promo: The 5 Teams To Watch

It's time for hoops! FanDuel Sportsbook is opening up the 2023/24 NBA season with a bang, giving new customers three months of NBA League Pass on them when players sign up and bet $5.

With so much basketball now at your fingertips, there are some big decisions to be made, namely: which teams should you watch, and which franchises should you steer well clear of when there’s a loaded slate.

Luckily for you Dimers, who reported when the promotion launched, has done the dirty work to provide the ultimate League Pass Power Rankings guide.

The Top 5 Teams to Watch on NBA League Pass This Season

First, when ranking the best teams to watch, it’s always important to draft up a criteria. And when it comes to NBA teams, the best team is not always the most compelling one to watch.

Here’s how we ranked our top 5:

  • Star Power: The presence of high-profile and charismatic players who bring star quality to the games.
  • Drama: The NBA is basically a soap opera with millionaire athletes. We want to watch the teams that are in the headlines all of the time; for better or worse.
  • Style of Play: Exciting and fast-paced gameplay, emphasizing creativity and teams that can put up points in a hurry.
  • Car-crash Viewing: The teams whose downfall you take pleasure in watching. The so-bad-it’s-good type of teams.

1. San Antonio Spurs

Beginning the season atop of our NBA League Pass Power Rankings is the San Antonio Spurs. Now, this might only last a week or two because the Spurs had one of the worst records in the league last year and are expected to struggle again with the DimersBOT win total projection coming in at 28 wins, but we doubt there will be a hoops head on earth who won’t be tuning in to the first official NBA game for No. 1 draft pick Victor Wembanyama. The man they’ve crowned as the alien has already been thrilling in the NBA pre-season, doing stuff like lefty skyhook dunks that are simply, flat out, unbelievable. This kid is legit, and the first couple of weeks are going to be essential viewing.

 2. Phoenix Suns

After the Suns moved on Kevin Durant before last season’s trade deadline, almost everybody thought that Phoenix would walk through the playoffs and onto a title easily. That didn’t happen, but the back office has stacked the decks for another run, adding Bradley Beal to an offensive unit that possesses the best scorer of a generation in Durant, plus one who could one day overtake him in Devin Booker. Nothing short of the Larry O’Brien trophy would be a pass mark for this team in 2023/24 and they’re going to be a ton of fun to watch on a nightly basis.

3. Los Angeles Lakers

It might not feel like it, but we are well and truly in the midst of the last throes of LeBron James’ illustrious career. Lakers GM Rob Pelinka has assembled a competitive team to put around the King and his All-Star teammate Anthony Davis this season as they look to do better than their Western Conference Finals sweep at the hands of the eventual champions, the Denver Nuggets. Regardless of whether you’re Camp Michael Jordan, or believe LeBron is the true GOAT, we are in the twilight of greatness and you should savor every second of it this season.

4. Milwaukee Bucks

Damian Lillard’s failed courtship with the Miami Heat was the headline of the summer, but when the former Blazer was instead dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks, it set up a tantalizing partnership with Giannis Antetokunmpo that is sure to fixate some eyeballs on the Firserv Forum in the opening weeks of the season. History tells us that when two mega super-duper stars link up, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee success. It could all fall apart at any time, but one way or another, it’s going to be one hell of a ride to follow.

5. Denver Nuggets

Last year’s champions come in at No. 5 on our rankings. The best way to describe this team, and their MVP Nikola Jokic is: industrious. They’re not the flashiest, but by god they will strangle you to death with their efficacy. They +550 with FanDuel Sportsbook to go back-to-back.
