Yes, I understand that you probably don’t want to watch or bet on this game, but you just pipe down and listen! And eat your veggies while you’re at it! Where am I going with this line of nonsensical statements (and what was the point of that)? Absolutely no clue, but it was a nice reminder to all of you that I really just sit down and put whatever I think is funny on the page because I have no rules or journalistic principles. Now then…

As for the game, it’s not exactly one you’d classify as “important” unless you’re looking for potential relegation candidates. Sure, Brentford came out and beat Manchester United within an inch of their life last week (and probably caused a few fans to keel over and die), but the Red Devils are about as functional as a car without an engine right now so I’m not putting a huge amount of stock in that long term. Fulham? Well, not losing yet is nice, I guess.

That said, both of these teams have had solid results so far this year (Fulham drawing Liverpool being the most impressive, arguably), and I think there’s reasonable cause for optimism (at least, for not getting relegated) on both ends. And, in line with that cheery sentiment, we’re going to bet on both of them to score because everybody loves goals.

Brentford are the slightly better side with an extra season of EPL experience under their belt from last campaign, but their away form last season was fairly concerning (they conceded 35 away to 22 at home) and Fulham should be good for at least one. Oh, and that Aleksandar Mitrovic guy is pretty impressive despite missing a penalty last week. As for the Bees, they showed some solid movement and flow on Sunday and I expect that performance will boost them in the short term by providing confidence and belief. Fulham aren’t awful defensively, but newly promoted sides tend to have less talent and consistency in the back for the first year (until they can buy more players).

It’s not going to make you rich at -138, but the money is good here and there’s nothing wrong with adding a little pocket change to go down to the ice cream shop for a cone to kick this heat wave.
