EPIC GAMBLING STORY: Man Wins $112,000 on MLB Game Due to Sportsbook Glitch

To paraphrase a line from the great Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday, life is a game of inches. In the game of life, the margin of error is so small - I mean, one half-step too late, or too early and you don’t quite make it. One second too slow, too fast, you don’t quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us.
Landon Coleman of Evansville, Indiana, landed in the exact right spot at the exact right time, stumbling across a split-second FanDuel Sportsbook glitch before last Sunday’s MLB game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds that would see him collect a life-changing $112,000.
And yes, they let him keep it.
But how did it happen?

“Sunday was a normal day for me,” the 28-year-old father of two told Dimers.com
“It was the last day of Summer for my daughter who was starting kindergarten (the next day), so we were getting ready to go to my parents to swim and hang out all day,
“I had two $100 Same Game Parlays to get another $100 in rewards back, so I looked at the Cincinnati game to place one real fast,”
While compiling his Same Game Parlay, Coleman noticed something was up when he pieced together six relatively realistic legs that returned odds of +200000.
“I was so confused why,” he said.
“I started taking everything off when I saw that the pitcher’s odds (Tyler Mahle to record 6+ strikeouts and Bryse Wilson to record 3+) were juiced up to +2100 and +800,
“I thought the game was getting canceled or they were changing the starting pitchers,”
Despite the confusion, Coleman went to shoot his shot, placing a total of three wagers: a $100 Same Game Parlay on Mahle and Wilson to get their strikeouts, along with an alternate total runs of Under 12.5 runs at odds of +91256 -- a $25 Same Game Parlay on just the pitchers alone to get their strikeouts at +81461, and finally, a $100 bet on Mahle to record 4+ Ks at odds of +1300.
“I was planning of doing more, but they took the odds down right after I was able to make my last bet,”
For FanDuel Sportsbook, it was too late. The damage was done. In the game which the Reds won 3-2, the bets were effectively over by the end of the third inning when both pitchers hit their targets. FanDuel now owed our man more than $100,000.
But glitches are rare, and when they do happen, sportsbooks are usually pretty quick to void any tickets. However, FanDuel Sportsbook - by far America’s largest online bookmaker - seemed to take the L.
Speaking to Dimers.com, FanDuel Sportsbook Spokesperson, Kevin Hennessy, confirmed the validity of the winning tickets.
“For a short time on Sunday we had an issue with our pricing model, and it was the same time the customer placed the wager,” Mr. Hennessy said.
The money, which cleared in Landon’s FanDuel account as his kids were still swimming in their grandparents' pool, could not have come at a better time for Coleman and his family whose business was ravaged by the pandemic.
“I owned my own cleaning business, cleaning restaurants, banks and lawyer offices. In March of last year, we were forced to shut down due to everything closing,” the big winner said.

“I’ve never felt more of a high in my life - on top of the world, lucky, blessed, just a weird anxious feeling throughout my whole body,”
With financial relief coming after an impossibly tough year, Coleman, who goes by @Titsyeah on Twitter, says he was able to use the money from Sunday’s win to pay off all of his debts and will now start planning a wedding with his fianceé of almost eight years.
Yes, the win may have been sheer luck, but life is defined by moments like these. Sometimes all you need is a little bit of a lucky break for everything to change. For Landon Coleman and his family, their luck was inch-perfect.
