Week 5 English Premier League Best Bets
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Fulham: Best Bet
Kickoff: 10.00AM ET
BET: Joao Palhinha to get booked (+300 at Caesars)
Fulham have been great fun to watch this season and they’re playing so well that it looks like they might finally put an end to their status as a “yo-yo club” going between the Premier League and the Championship. They’re eighth in the Premier League now and one of the reasons for their impressive showing has been the signing of Joao Palhinha from Sporting.
Palhinha has been excellent in breaking down opposition attacks but Tottenham will offer a different challenge and the speed of Spurs on the counter will add pressure for the Fulham midfielder. He’s already been booked three times in five games and he will have to put lots of tackles in with any three of Richarlison, Son Heung-Min, Harry Kane and Dejan Kulusevski rampaging around him. This looks like a great price at +300.

Wolves vs. Southampton: Best Bet
Kickoff: 10:00am ET
BET: Under 2.5 Goals (-118 at Caesars)
Last season Wolves games saw Under 2.5 goals 63.2% of the time and this season it’s now at 80%. In five games Wolves have only scored two goals and conceded four. Since arriving in Wolverhampton it’s clear that Bruno Lage focuses on defense and making sure that his team are hard to beat.
The visitors Southampton shocked Chelsea just days ago but the reality is that they’re not a great team and they’ll struggle to break down a Wolves team who will put 11 men behind the ball.
With Wolves struggling to find the back of the net and ensuring that they keep their backline as strong as possible, against a poor Southampton team, the best bet here is Under 2.5 at a tasty -118.

Aston Villa vs. Man City: Best Bet
Kickoff: 12:30pm ET
BET: Man City -3 (+550 at Caesars)
If you love the Premier League then you’ve probably fallen in love with Erling Haaland. Man City’s Norwegian striker has scored nine goals in five games already including two hattricks. He looks like the final piece of the puzzle for Man City and they’re going to blow a lot of teams apart this season. Through five games they’ve scored 19 goals and now face Aston Villa.
Sitting down in 19th and with four defeats and just one win there is a huge amount of pressure on Steven Gerrard. The Aston Villa boss has shown in the transfer window that he has a great contact book but he’s yet to really show that he is a top level manager. He doesn’t seem to know his best team and he keeps changing the lineup, not only that but he seems to have lost the players. That is very bad news when you have a hungry Man City visiting.
City are so good that they can rest players and it doesn’t matter, they will find a way to score. I’m backing Man City to win with a three goal handicap. That might seem a lot but I really could see Man City scoring five or six here, this will be a big win for Pep Guardiola’s team.
