Week 10 English Premier League Best Bets
Manchester City vs. Southampton: Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday, October 8 - 10:00AM ET
It’s very hard to find any value when betting on Man City right now. Betting on Erling Haaland to score is pointless given the odds and they’re -750 to win this game. There is one way to get something like good odds on a Man City win and that’s by backing Pep Guardiola’s team to win to nil.
City have allowed nine goals in eight Premier League games this season, which isn’t brilliant but Southampton have only managed to score an average of a goal per game. In a match in which they’ll likely to be defending heavily and putting 11 men behind the ball you’d think they won’t get many goalscoring chances.
For those reasons it’s best to take City to win to nil at -110, it’s by far the best value you’ll get on this game.
Bet: Man City to win to nil (-100)
Newcastle vs. Brentford: Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday, October 8 - 10:00AM ET
Newcastle have been hugely improved under Eddie Howe and the future is bright for the club. That said, they’re only one point better off than the visitors Brentford after eight games and the West London club have been impressive this season and sit 10th in the Premier League table.
Newcastle are missing striker Alexander Isak, which will damage their chances to score, even though Callum Wilson isn’t a bad replacement. I don’t expect Brentford to win this one but they’ve been good on the road this season.
Brentford have had four away games this year and drawn three of them and at +295 I’d back on that streak continuing against a Newcastle team missing their key man.
Bet: DRAW (+295)
Brighton vs. Tottenham: Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday, October 8 - 12:30PM ET
The final game on Saturday’s slate is undoubtedly the biggest. Antonio Conte’s Spurs, third in the Premier League travel to Brighton, this season’s surprise club who sit fourth. With Brighton losing former manager Graham Potter to Chelsea there were worries that it would start a decline but a 3-3 tie with Liverpool last weekend gives them optimism that all isn’t over yet.
Dejan Kulusevski is injured meaning that we’ll likely see the Son Heung-Min, Richarlison and Harry Kane front three that Spurs have played regularly this year. That will leave an interesting matchup against the Brighton defense. It’s likely that Ecuadorian Pervis Estupinan will play on the left wingback which means he’s at risk of facing the pace and guile of either Son or Richarlison. He’s already picked up two yellow cards in just three starts (and two sub appearances) in the Premier League and is great value at +600 to pick up another against Spurs’ talented attack.
Bet: Pervis Estupinan to get booked (+600)
