Week 9 English Premier League Best Bets

Southampton vs. Everton: Best Bet

Kickoff: Saturday, October 1 - 10:00AM ET

Only one place separates Southampton and Everton, with both clubs on seven points. They’ve had very different seasons though. The Saints have won two, with one draw and four losses. Meanwhile Everton have only managed one win and tied four games.

Everton have looked far better this season, both defensively and also in terms of scoring
goals with Anthony Gordon starting to look like a future star. It’s probably too soon to
suggest an Everton win, given that they’ve won just one of their past 20 away games in the
Premier League, but a draw feels very possible against this Southampton team. Everton
have drawn over 50% of their games this season and +240 on another one here is good
value.

Bet: DRAW (+240) with Bet365

Crystal Palace vs. Chelsea: Best Bet

Kickoff: Saturday, October 1 - 10:00AM ET

Chelsea last played in the Premier League on September 3 rd and since then they’ve sacked
Thomas Tuchel and replaced him with Graham Potter, formerly of Brighton.

Through a mixture of fixture cancellations and international break it’s given the new
manager nearly a month with his players and that time training then and installing his ideas
into them, will be hugely valuable.

Potter will be a success at Chelsea, he’s incredibly talented, but it’ll take time. Despite that
they come into this following a break and that time learning his style should pay off. It won’t
be easy to beat Crystal Palace, who have been a joy to watch at times this season, but on
paper they should have enough about them to win. It’s going to be fun to watch and
hopefully given us an idea of how he’ll develop this team.

Bet: Chelsea to win (-115) with FanDuel

West Ham vs. Wolves: Best Bet

Kickoff: Saturday, October 1 - 12:30PM ET

West Ham vs. Wolves doesn’t scream box office. It’s the sort of game that’ll only be
watched by fans of either team, but despite that there’s one thing we can bet on for this, a
lack of goals.

So far this season both teams have allowed a combined 16 goals in 14 games and worringly
scored a combined six in that time. Neither team is looking remotely dangerous in front of
goal and defensively they’re both pretty strong.

That leads us to look at this being a low scoring game. Under 2.5 goals is -132 and is a must-bet, but we’ll go one further and bet on Under 1.5 goals at +220. Under 2.5 goals has landed in two of Wolves three games on the road this season. In fact in the three games when Wolves have been the away team there have been a total of four goals scored. Bruno Lage likes to keep his team tight at the back and it’ll be no different here.

Bet: Under 1.5 Goals (+220) with Caesars Sportsbook
