Week 3 English Premier League Best Bets
Crystal Palace vs. Aston Villa Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday, August 20 at 10:00AM ET
Play: Crystal Palace to win (+150 at BetMGM)
They’ve only racked up one point so far but Crystal Palace have faced both Liverpool and Arsenal in that time. After a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal everybody expected the worst against a brilliant Liverpool team but they performed sensationally and got a draw.
The Crystal Palace team is loaded with attacking talent. Wilfried Zaha, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise are all capable of brilliance and they are one of the reasons that Palace are one of the most loved teams for neutrals.
While Patrick Vieira has turned this team into great entertainers, the same can’t be said for Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa, who still don’t look like they have an identity. When it comes down to Saturday’s game, you have to think that the brilliant crowd at Selhurst Park will give Palace the edge. Not only that but they’re likely to bring Michael Olise back to the starting lineup following injury and that could cause issues for Aston Villa, who are now without new central defensive signing Diego Carlos who has been ruled out for the season through injury.
Everton vs. Nottingham Forest Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday, August 20 at 10:00AM ET
Play: Neco Williams to score or assist (+500 at FanDuel)
Everton have lost both of their Premier League matches so far and there is real concern around Merseyside for the team’s future. In the summer they sold their star man Richarlison to Spurs and now it looks like young Anthony Gordon could also be leaving to a Premier League giant. The talented young forward has been developed through the club’s youth system and losing him would be a huge loss.
Everton have added defensive reinforcements in Conor Coady and James Tarkowski but they still don’t look rock solid at the back. That gives us a huge opportunity for a big +500 win on backing Forest’s Neco Williams to either score or assist in that game.
Neco Williams arrived from Liverpool in the summer — after having spent some time with Fulham last season — and it’s clear that he’s learned from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson, two of the world’s best attacking fullbacks. In Forest’s win over West Ham, the 21-year old had 74 touches of the ball, attempted nine crosses and had four shots. Those are very impressive numbers and if he keeps being that integral to Forest’s attacking play then the +500 on him to score or assist could offer huge value.
Bournemouth vs. Arsenal Best Bet
Kickoff: Saturday, August 20 at 12:30PM ET
Play: Gabriel Jesus to score (+120 at Bet365 for those in New Jersey)
If you read last week then you’d have won money backing Gabriel Jesus to score for Arsenal and we’re back again this week in the final game of Saturday. In Arsenal’s first game of the season, the new signing from Man City was incredible, yet didn’t manage to score. That wasn’t the case against Leicester when the Brazilian scored two goals.
Arsenal look a far better team with Jesus in the team and he had an xG (expected goals) of 2.11 last week. That was higher than 17 Premier League teams. Those numbers are incredible and now he faces a Bournemouth team who just conceded four goals to Man City.
Getting these odds on Jesus to score represents amazing value and you need to grab it in these early weeks before the odds start to shorten every single week.
