Eagles vs. Texans Computer Picks, NFL Odds and Prediction for Thursday Night Football on November 3, 2022

One of the best teams in the league will be playing on Thursday Night Football, as the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles will face the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium at 8:15PM ET on November 3. While this might seem like a straightforward game for Philadelphia, it's never exactly easy to play on a short week. Could this be a spot where Jalen Hurts and Co. get tripped up?

Find out how we think this one will play out in our Eagles vs. Texans betting preview.

Eagles vs. Texans Odds and Betting Lines

Why The Eagles Will Cover The Spread

Since Nick Sirianni took over as the team's head coach, Philadelphia is 13-1 straight-up and 9-4-1 against the spread as a favorite. The Eagles have also won and covered in both of the games they've played as favorites of 10 or more points in that time. This just seems like a game that could easily get out of hand.

Houston looked rather competitive early in the year, but the team has now failed to cover in three of its last four. It's just hard to see the Texans finding a way to slow down Hurts, A.J. Brown and this explosive Eagles offense. Meanwhile, it's also hard to envision the Texans finding a way to score enough points to keep this thing from getting out of hand.

Why Texans Will Cover The Spread

If there's any silver lining when looking at the trends for this game, it's the fact that the Eagles are 3-4 ATS as road favorites under Sirianni. So, while those earlier trends definitely favored Philadelphia, the team has had trouble handling its business on the road.

The Texans defense has also given up 17 or fewer points in two of its last three games, so it's not impossible to think that they can hold the Eagles to 24 or fewer points in this one. That would give them a chance at keeping this close enough to get the job done.

Dameon Pierce is also an absolute stud, so getting him the ball should be a priority. If Houston can get him going, it'll be a lot easier for this group to avoid losing by two touchdowns.

Why The Over Will Hit

The Eagles have scored at least 26 points in three of their last four games, so they are capable of doing a chunk of the damage for Over bettors on their own. Hurts and Co. put up 35 on a solid Steelers defense last week, with Brown looking absolutely unstoppable at wideout.

If Philadelphia gets rolling, you won't have to worry too much about this one hitting. The number is so low that you'd only need the Texans to hit double digits or so to win. The Over is also 8-5-1 in games in which the Eagles have been favored under Sirianni.

Why The Under Will Hit

The Texans just don't want to let this turn into anything close to a shootout. This Houston team knows exactly what it is, and that's a team that has a chance to win games if they are really low scoring. The only win of the year for the Texans was one in which they beat the Jaguars 13-6. If their opponent scores at least 21 points, it's just not going to be pretty for Lovie Smith's group.

Houston is also coming off a 17-10 loss to Tennessee. That's the type of game the Texans want this to be. And Houston has gotten its way lately, as the Under is 2-1 over the last three games the team has played.

Eagles vs. Texans Prediction

Lean: Eagles -13

These short weeks can be really tricky, but this Eagles team has proven to be built differently. They're impossible to stop offensively and their defense is also great. It's hard to see the Texans keeping this game close.
