Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. Illinois Fighting Illini - 12:00PM ET

A pretty good argument can be made that Minnesota is being overrated because of a soft early-season schedule. The Golden Gophers haven't really faced anybody good at this point in the year, and they were unable to earn a home win over a mediocre Purdue team last week. Minnesota was an 8.5-point favorite in that one, and that is what makes it hard to believe that Illinois is getting a touchdown in this spot.

Bret Bielema has completely turned this Fighting Illini program around, and back-to-back wins over Wisconsin and Iowa are proof of that. Bielema's teams are known for being good in the trenches and playing good defense, and beating those two programs in consecutive weeks shows that his Illini group checks both boxes this year. Now, we expect them to keep this game close — and honestly, we'd be somewhat surprised if Illinois doesn't win outright.

The Illini actually won 14-6 when these teams met in Minnesota last season, and they're 7-4 against the spread as underdogs since Bielema took over. On top of that, the team is 8-4 ATS when facing Big Ten competition. The Illini also have the best scoring defense in the nation this year, so you'd think they'd have an answer for Tanner Morgan and Co. The senior quarterback actually threw three picks last week.

North Carolina State Wolfpack vs. Syracuse Orange - 3:30PM ET

While NC State had to play a really tight game against Florida State last week, undefeated Syracuse is coming off of a bye week. That means that the Orange had more time to get healthy and prepare for this singular opponent, and that is a massive advantage for head coach Dino Babers and an underrated Syracuse team. Add in the fact that the Orange will have a great crowd behind them at the Carrier Dome and it isn't hard to see why Cuse would end up covering in this one.

Since Babers took over as the Syracuse coach, the team is 19-3 straight-up and 14-7 ATS when playing as a favorite. The Orange are also facing a Wolfpack team that is 4-13-1 ATS when playing as an underdog of 3.5 to 10 points under head coach Dave Doeren. There's just a lot that points to this being a game that goes Syracuse's way, and the fact that the Orange have a good passing defense adds to that.

NC State quarterback Devin Leary is out for this one, so that means the team will have an inexperienced backup going up against a tough defense. That's not exactly a recipe for success.

Wisconsin Badgers vs. Michigan State Spartans - 4:00PM ET

The Over has surprisingly hit in each of the last four games that Wisconsin has played, and part of that has to do with the fact that the Badgers aren't as good defensively as we've seen in recent years. They gave up 34 points in a loss to Illinois two weeks ago, and that performance came after the team gave up 52 to Ohio State.

Michigan State's offense isn't quite as good as those others, but the Spartans should be able to score some points at home in this one. And the Badgers will definitely be able to put up a decent number against a lousy Michigan State defense. The Spartans have given up at least 27 points in each of the last four weeks, and they just don't have the personnel required to slow down Braelon Allen in the running game. And their weak passing defense should make life on Graham Mertz rather easy here.

It should also be noted that the Over is 6-0 when Michigan State is playing at home coming off a conference game over the last two seasons.
