Week 10 College Football Best Bets

Tennessee Volunteers vs. Georgia Bulldogs - 3:30PM ET

Betting on Tennessee is almost like betting on hope for college football as a whole. If the second-best team in the nation can't cover as an 8-point underdog against Georgia, we might as well just wrap things up and give the Bulldogs the national championship — which already would be somewhat reasonable when you consider the fact that Oregon was ranked eighth in the first College Football Playoff rankings and the Ducks lost by 46 against the Bulldogs in September.

This Volunteers team has been remarkable this season, as it is now 8-0 straight-up and 7-1 against the spread. Tennessee has consistently exceeded expectations, but we've actually seen Georgia's level dip throughout the course of the season. That's pretty hard to ignore when looking at this matchup.

This game also just has all the makings of a shootout, with these teams being first and second in the nation in total yards per game. If this thing is going back and forth, you're going to want to be on the team getting points. And the fact that the Vols can lose by a touchdown and still cover is music to our ears.

It also should should be noted that this is Hendon Hooker's opportunity to run away in the Heisman Trophy race. If he delivers a good performance against this Georgia team, that award is as good as his.

Texas Longhorns vs. Kansas State Wildcats - 7:00PM ET

Texas is a well-rested team after having had a bye week last week, but the Longhorns are also coming off a 41-34 loss against the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Last week, Kansas State earned a 48-0 win over that same Oklahoma State team, so you just have to ask yourself whether or not that rest for the Longhorns will make up that big of a difference here. We're betting it won't.

While the Longhorns have more star power than the Wildcats, Kansas State is still plenty talented and has a much better head coach. Texas is actually just 1-6 both SU and ATS when playing on the road under head coach Steve Sarkisian, which isn't very inspiring coming into this one. Meanwhile, Kansas State is 6-3 ATS as a home underdog under Chris Klieman. The team is also 7-4 SU and 5-4 ATS in games with lines of +3 to -3 in that span.

The Wildcats quarterback situation is definitely a little murky right now, but we're still rolling with the home team here. We don't even want the points, as we like them to win outright. One last thing to note is that the Wildcats are 7-1 SU and 8-0 ATS when facing teams that average less than one turnover per game under Klieman.

Clemson Tigers vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish - 7:30PM ET

Notre Dame is coming off a very big road win over Syracuse last week, but the team isn't looking to stop there. This Fighting Irish squad can pick up a signature win in the Marcus Freeman era this weekend and we like their chances to at least keep it very close against the Tigers.

Clemson had a lot of trouble with Syracuse two weeks ago, as it only won by six as a 14.5-point home favorite in that game. The Tigers also had to change quarterbacks in that game, which also sets up a controversy for Dabo Swinney's group at the most important position in the sport. That's not what you want heading into a meeting with a Notre Dame team that is elite defensively.

It won't be easy for the Fighting Irish to score points in this game themselves, but we just think the combination of their defense and the added adrenaline from their crowd will be hard for the Tigers to overcome. Clemson isn't as good as its record and the team is due for a loss soon.

BET: Notre Dame +3.5 at -105 at DraftKings Sportsbook
