College Basketball Futures Bets for 2022-2023 Season

Houston Cougars to win the national championship (+900)

Kelvin Sampson's Cougar program has consistently been a KenPom darling and one of the toughest outs in March. But this year he has arguably the most talented roster in the country. Marcus Sasser's return paired with Jarace Walker in the frontcourt gives Houston the star power on the perimeter and in the paint.

Houston is always entertaining but this is the year they finally have as much talent as anyone. You won't find more value on betting Houston to win at all than you will before the season starts. They're my favorite of the favorites.

Tennessee Volunteers to win the national championship (+3000)

Insert Rick Barnes in March caveat here, but the bells are ringing that Tennessee might be a bit better than expected. The Vols blew out Gonzaga in an exhibition game last week, led by Zakai Zeigler and Indiana State transfer Tyreke Key.

There may be some value in betting that the Vols are for real before the books do. They seem to be a bit slept on in comparison to the other SEC favorites like Kentucky, Alabama and Auburn. But these Vols will have as much talent and toughness as anyone, and it won't surprise me if they end up a consensus Top 10 team all season long.

Creighton Bluejays to win the national championship (+2500)

Creighton is one of the more polarizing teams heading into this season, returning a monstrous sophomore class and adding one of the best transfers in the sport in Baylor Scheierman. Last time we saw Creighton in March, they had the eventual national champion Kansas Jayhawks on the ropes without point guard Ryan Nembhard and center Ryan Kalkbrenner.

Valued as the 11th-most likely team to win the title, I believe that's too low for a team I expect to remain in the Top 10 of the polls from start to finish. The Bluejays are the class of the Big East now, and we shouldn't be surprised if they make a run to the Final Four at season's end.
