Navy vs. Army Betting Preview

This year's meeting between Navy and Army is an interesting one for avid college football bettors. Not only is it the only game that will be played on Saturday, but these teams have both been covering with regularity coming into this one. Navy comes into this game after having covered the spread in three games in a row, as well as seven of its last nine. Meanwhile, Army has covered in five consecutive games.

When you really think about it, it isn't hard to see why these teams are great ATS. Both of them pride themselves on their defense and ability to run the football, so that makes for chippy, competitive games. And that's also why the Under has hit in each of the last 15 meetings between these two storied programs.

While the Under has been the most reliable bet in this head-to-head rivalry over the years, Navy has also been a good bet more recently. After a stretch in which Army won three years in a row (and went 2-1 ATS) from 2016 to 2018, the Midshipmen have now won and covered in two of the last three. And Ken Niumatalolo's team is now favored to make it a third win in four years, but it's a very small spread. With that said, you can expect a competitive game between these two.

Just know going in that it's going to be a game with a lot of running. Both of these teams run triple-option offenses, so the quarterbacks won't be using their arms all that often.
