Utah vs. UCLA Analysis

The Spread

The undefeated Bruins haven’t faced a super tough schedule, but a 5-0 record is impressive nonetheless. UCLA’s first test was against Washington last week and the Bruins passed with flying colors.

The defense has been the surprise for Chip Kelly’s team this season. The Bruins are 30th in FBS in total defense, and top 10 against the run. They shut down the Huskies run game by only allowing 65 yards on the ground. UCLA will have to repeat that performance against Utah.

The offense is still as exciting as ever in Pasadena. Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson is a special athlete. He is completing balls at a high rate and takes care of the football. Thompson-Robinson is a gifted runner as well. UCLA has a lot of reliable skill players. Jake Bobo, a talented 6-foot-5 wideout, is Thompson-Robinson’s go-to target. Running back Zach Charbonnet averages 6.4 yards per carry. Utah’s defense will have its hands full against this UCLA offense.

The Utah defense is the strength of this team. The Utes rank sixth in FBS in total defense, allowing 244 yards per game. They force turnovers at a high rate. Cornerback Clark Phillips III has four interceptions on the season. Utah is also second in the nation against the pass. This will be UCLA’s biggest test of the season in the passing game.

Utah’s offense has started to gain some momentum ever since the loss at Florida. Quarterback Cam Rising has thrown for 12 touchdowns and one interception in Utah’s last four games. The run game has also been a strength of the offense. Tight end Brant Kuithe is out for the season with a knee injury. Kuithe was a big part of the Utah offense. However, the Utes have a deep tight end room, so expect Dalton Kincaid to see increased production.

Utah is favored in this game by 4.5 points, but the DimersBOT likes UCLA to cover the spread. UCLA has too much offensive firepower to not keep this one close. Utah’s defense will give the UCLA offense a stiff challenge, but we’ll take the points.

The Over/Under

These two teams have different strengths. UCLA’s strength lies on offense. Utah’s strength lies on defense. The matchup between UCLA’s offense and Utah’s defense will decide the flow of this game. Utah will want to slow the tempo, run the ball and control the clock. UCLA wants to get its skill players in space and spread the ball all over the field.

The point total is at 65. Utah only allows 14.0 points per game. UCLA will score more than that, but it will still be tough for the Bruins to score points. UCLA’s defense is solid in its own right. The Bruins have allowed 20.8 points per game this season. We like the Under here, and the DimersBOT also leans toward the Under. We know Utah is good on defense, but watch out for the Bruins defense.

Utah vs. UCLA Best Bet

Under 65

We like the Under here. The total at 65 is just too many points for two defenses that are playing good football. Expect both defenses to force a few turnovers in this game.

We strongly suggest taking this with the DraftKings bet $5 to get $200 offer mentioned at the top of this article because, even if the Under doesn't hit, new customers still get $200 just for joining and placing a successful $5 moneyline bet on the gameYou can claim it ➡️ here ⬅️.
