CFB Computer Picks, Analysis and Best Bet For TCU vs. Kansas on October 8, 2022

The Kansas Jayhawks will be looking to keep the dream season alive when they host the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday, October 8 at 12:00PM ET. The Horned Frogs are coming into this one on the heels of a massive win over Oklahoma, while the Jayhawks held on to beat Iowa State at home. Lance Leipold currently has his team at 5-0 and ranked in the AP Poll for the first time since 2009.

TCU vs. Kansas Analysis

The Spread

The Kansas offense will go as far as quarterback Jalon Daniels takes it. Daniels is a dual-threat quarterback that had a lot of success in Kansas’ first four games. He even threw for 324 yards against Duke. However, Daniels struggled against Iowa State last Saturday. He only accounted for 102 total yards and Kansas struggled offensively.

The Jayhawks have shown throughout the season that they can win in multiple ways. Daniels and the offense struggled against Iowa State, but the defense stepped up and held the Cyclones to 11 points in a defensive battle. Kansas is one of the best teams in the Big 12 at getting to the quarterback. The Jayhawks have 15 sacks in five games. That is tied for 18th in FBS.

TCU will provide a good challenge for the Kansas defense. Quarterback Max Duggan has been thriving in the Sonny Dykes offense. He’s been one of the top performing QBs in college football so far this season. Duggan is completing passes at a 74.5% rate. He also has thrown 11 touchdowns and no interceptions. The Kansas pass defense, which ranks 111th in FBS, will have a hard time dealing with Duggan and the solid TCU receiving unit. The Horned Frogs also take care of the football. They only have one turnover this season.

The TCU defense can hold its own. It held Oklahoma to under 200 passing yards and under 200 rushing yards. The Horned Frogs did struggle defending the pass against SMU. Daniels will provide a unique challenge for this defense as he will likely be the most athletic QB they will see all season.

The spread in this game is at -7 in favor of TCU. But “The Booth” will be loud and raucous, and home-field advantage plays a big role in college football. TCU will have the advantage out wide on offense against the Kansas secondary, but the Jayhawks offense will also be able to put up points. Give us Kansas +7 and the DimersBOT also leans in favor of Kansas and the points.

The Over/Under

Kansas only put up 213 yards of total offense against Iowa State. That might be a turn off for the Over crowd but expect the Kansas offense to bounce back this week. And TCU has been consistently good on offense throughout the season. Don’t expect that to change against a Kansas defense that struggles against the pass.

The point total in this game is at 67.5. Both teams have really good offenses, but this is simply too many points. We like the Under here and the DimersBOT slightly leans toward the Under as well.

TCU vs. Kansas Best Bet

Kansas +7

Kansas is a perfect 5-0 against the spread this season. The Jayhawks are also 3-0 straight-up as underdogs. Vegas has been off with the betting lines on the Jayhawks this whole season. We think Kansas will find a way to cover this spread and even win this game outright to improve to 6-0.

We strongly suggest taking this with the DraftKings bet $5 to get $200 offer mentioned at the top of this article because, even if the Jayhawks don't cover, new customers still get $200 just for joining and placing a successful $5 moneyline bet on the gameYou can claim it ➡️ here ⬅️.
