Kentucky vs. Ole Miss Analysis

The Spread

Both the Wildcats and Rebels had relatively close calls in Week 4 but came out with wins. Both teams haven’t won with style points, but have won, nonetheless.

In Kentucky’s only tough test so far this season, against Florida, the Wildcats had 70 rushing yards. That is not Mark Stoops’ identity. Kentucky is a run-first team. What’s different about this Kentucky team is that it can win in multiple ways. The Wildcats proved that against Florida.

The passing game is in good hands with Will Levis, a future NFL quarterback. He is tough to bring down when he scrambles, and he has a strong arm. Kentucky also has a top-20 defense nationally in yards allowed per game.

Lane Kiffin has adjusted to his personnel this season. Matt Corral is no longer leading the Ole Miss passing attack. The Rebels have shifted to more of a rushing-led offense. In fact, Ole Miss is fourth in the country in rushing yards per game.

The spread for this game is at Ole Miss -7. Kentucky is actually ranked higher by the AP Poll but is still an underdog. Stoops and the Wildcats have already won a road game outright as an underdog this season. That game was at Florida, and they were 6-point underdogs. This spread is very similar to that one.

We think Kentucky is the better all-around football team. There are still question marks regarding the Rebels because they haven’t been tested yet. We are confident that the Wildcats will cover, and the DimersBOT leans in Kentucky’s favor as well. We like Kentucky so much that we recommend sprinkling a little bit on the moneyline.

The Over/Under

Both teams have performed well defensively so far this season. Kentucky ranks 17th in yards allowed per game in FBS. Ole Miss is 29th in the same category. Both teams will try to establish the run. Both teams can also move the ball through the air.

The point total is at 54. We expect this game to be right down to the wire, so overtime is not out of the question. With that in mind, we think the Over is the smarter play. We think both offenses will be able to move the football either through the air or on the ground.

Kentucky vs. Ole Miss Best Bet

Wildcats +7

Ole Miss and Kentucky are evenly matched teams. We think this spread should be closer to a pick ‘em. Because of that, we really like Kentucky to keep this game within one score. Also, Stoops is 3-3 outright as an underdog in the last two seasons, and his Wildcats covered the spread in four of those six games. The Wildcats plus the points is our best bet for this SEC clash.

We strongly suggest taking this with the DraftKings bet $5 to get $150 offer mentioned at the top of this article because, even if Kentucky doesn't cover, new customers still get $150 just for joining and placing a successful $5 moneyline bet on the gameYou can claim it ➡️ here ⬅️.
