College Football Best Bet For The Monday, December 26 Bowl Game

Quick Lane Bowl: New Mexico State Aggies vs. Bowling Green Falcons - 2:30PM ET

The Aggies received a waiver from the NCAA in order to become bowl eligible, but this is a team that feels like it belongs and that's why it went to great lengths to try and find a way to be a part of bowl season. Now, New Mexico State will be looking to beat Bowling Green in a game that likely means a lot more to the Aggies than the Falcons.

This is also just a very good matchup for New Mexico State, as Bowling Green wants to throw the football and that might be difficult here. The Aggies only gave up 183.7 passing yards per game this season, and that was the 13th-best mark in college football. New Mexico State also gave up only 13 touchdowns through the air, and only 12 teams gave up fewer than that this year. That makes it hard not to like Jerry Kill's team here.

Kill happens to be an experienced head coach that has never won a bowl game before. With that in mind, he's going to be eager to get his team over the finish line here, and his players are going to want to win one for him. And being that Bowling Green has a pretty miserable passing defense, his offense should be able to do just enough to help support the defense in this spot.

It doesn't hurt that the Falcons lost two of their last three games coming into this one, and they also happen to be 1-3 against the spread in their last four games. They aren't playing good football at the moment and we expect a hungry Aggies team to take advantage of that.

Our DimersBOT also has New Mexico State losing this game by only one point in its 25-24 predicted score. That's another reason you might want to just take the points here.
